I purchased a mobile home over a year ago. It had gone through two owners before I bought it. Murray (Pawleys Island Office) did the closing for the sale. Come to find out, the title was still in the first owners name because Murray never changed the name on the title! The mobile home was also supposed to be “detitled” (which means there is no more physical title. Home purchasers often get a better loan rate when the home is “detitled.” Cities and counties also benefit from the convenience of combined tax bills and improved assessment values. The process involves retiring the title issued for the home by the State of South Carolina). Murray didn’t take the proper steps to make that happen. So, laziness or incompetence on their part, or both! My closing attorney contacted Murray Law Firm, but the lawyers, paralegals & assistants in that office kept blowing them off. Because of this huge debacle I was having to pay taxes on both the property and the mobile home. Not to mention I was paying a mortgage on a home that wasn’t even in my name. This whole thing was taking a huge toll on me, mentally and emotionally. Ironically, the first home owner was my aunt and her daughter and son in law are real estate agents in Myrtle Beach. From what I understand, they called and complained about all of this to Murray. So, Murray Law Firm (trying to cover their a**) actually had the nerve to call my aunt and told her not to sign the old title over to me. They tried to make it sound like everything was fine! Little did they know that she knew what was going on the whole time. After a year MY attorney finally got this all straight for me. I don’t care if you’re using the Murrells Inlet, Garden City, Pawleys Island or Myrtle Beach office...don’t use Murray Law Firm.

Very unprofessional. Will not return phone calls. Three and a half weeks after closing still having to call about getting our insurance policy paid, that should have been paid at closing. Would not recommend!
The worst, most unprofessional group of people of people I have ever dealt with. They are completely disorganize and do not communicate well. When they make a mistake they will let lie and blame you for their errors. They will not do what they say or accomplish a task that is required in a timely fashion. They have cost us over $300 in moving expenses because of their lie on a correct closing date and possession. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Dan Guiney and his team are on top of it!! Even difficult closings, get completed. Dan is available for questions, when he is not in closings, and will always make sure you are taken care of. I have worked with Dan and his office since I first got my RE License in 2005 and have sent him hundreds of closings. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this office and please know, it is better than great!!!!!

I am real estate agent that referred my clients to this office, hence I put money in their pocket. When I called to follow up on the transaction, all they could tell me was how busy they were and treated me as though I was a nuisance to them. Never will send them another piece of business ever. The culture there needs a major renovation when they don't know who keeps their business going.
