It would take more characters than I have to list all the things wrong with this lawyer. I was denied at the hearing he went to, then he filed a 7 word appeal. One sentence that just said I was still disabled. I got a favorable bench decision at my next hearing.
Fired him, got another lawyer to refuse the appeal. That appeal was several pages with hundreds of attached documents.
I hired Mr Oren for my disability case and he helped me get the money I deserved. Hes a straight shooter and an honest man.

The office is rude without cause and do not return calls. They did not submit medical information needed for my case. They disregarded important questions, always leaving you in the dark. After a couple years of going to Oren I reached the 25% cap. So he advised me to go to another Lawyer. While I did have to start fresh my case was approved in a few months with No fee attached.

Had my hearing yesterday and while I don't know the outcome yet, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mr. Oren. If you are looking for someone to babysit you and hold your hand the whole way, he isn't going to be for you. If however, you understand that he is not a doctor, a vocational expert, nor a judge, and can only work with what your doctors provide, then you will be just fine. He is an attorney, he has no control over your disability or health. He can't fabricate evidence or work with what he doesn't have. This is your hearing, you should be the one to make sure he has the most up to date records available. I know it seems a bit strange cause you are thinking, "Then why am I paying him?" The answer is simple, you're paying him for his legal knowledge and experience in SSID hearings, and he won't disappoint.

I wish I could give this attorney's office a zero rating. There's no contact with the attorney, you're forced to talk to the front desk ladies because Mr. Charlie Oren is never in the office. Also, he's only at the Bakersfield location on some Friday's. He doesn't care about the small SSI cases and it's probably because he has too many to keep up with all of them. I called him to express my concerns and how it's been over a year and a half since I went to him with my case, his response "Find a different attorney." give or take a few curse words. Do you really want someone representing you when his response is for you to find someone else?

If you choose to use this law practice do so with the knowledge that you are just a number!!! your calls are never returned, the staff is placating, rude and at times hostile. The paperwork is not filed in a timly matter, which in turn delays an already exhaustive wait..... please do your self a favor don't even consider this office when looking for a disability attorney.

I wish I could also give Mr. Oren and his office a zero. I only spoke with him once during my case and I found him to be incredibly rude. It's very difficult to fight social security when your sick and worried about paying bills, but it's a true shame to have to deal with an uncaring attorney who is supposed to be on your side. My case was approved in June 2017 by a law judge before it went to court. Mr. Oren's office was payed in July. This is the end of Sept and I still have not been payed theback pay that is due. When I try to reach out to Mr. Oren's assistant for help, she hardly ever calls back and if you call her, she acts like it is an extreme bother. ( I always find myself wanting to say, sorry for bothering you) I really don't know what else to do at this point? I wish I would have read reviews before I signed papers and found myself in this situation.
