I saw an attorney few weeks ago to help me file for bankruptcy. He said it would cost me 4200$ down and 1250.00 to start it. And that I would file for Chapter 13 to make payments. The a couple of days later. I saw a friend from work. She told me that lawyer is ripping you off. She said she had a lawyer that she worked on her case. And recommend me to her. She said that she will work with me on the fee and she is 5 times cheaper. I met with Jennifer Johnson and omg! She is awesome! She took her time to explain to me how bankruptcy works. What chapter I should file. She wrote down everything as I was explaining my situation and finances. Told me what I should file. That I should file a Chapter 7. Clean free no payments. Only on things that I wanted to keep. Like my car. That the other Lawyer wanted to put that 4200$ in the Chapter 13 so he could keep those payments for him as a side fee.
1250$ Was his intentional fee and only for me that I should of paid for. . I told a few friends from work that has filed. What they paid for 1000$ ,1200$,even 1400$ but they all looked at me like I was crazy. When I told them what this lawyer was going to charge me. I told Jennifer Johnson (my Lawyer) of how much that other lawyer was going to charge me. She shuck her head and said “He might make more money than me, but at least I can sleep at night “ that’s when knew I wanted to hire her. She is patient and honest and get the job done. Love her!!

Jon did such a great job helping my wife and I with our filing. He gave us some encouraging assurance about going through this process and was open and honest the entire time. This will be our first and last time filing, because he gave us some vital tips about life during the process and after the process. If you want to get back control of your financial state, these are the right people for you.

Only got good advice

Paid on our chapter 13 bankruptcy for 3 years without EVER making a late payment, had a major move to another state and job changes, asked for a 3 month break to get things back on track and the person that was handling our case was fired or quit our suspension never got filed and our case was didmissed and now we have to start over back at year one. I’m devastated and they are at fault. How did they not know what she was working on? Don’t go to them find someone else that can keep track of their clients and have their back. My dreams of owning a house now as been postponed. Beyond devastated !

Just starting the process but Jennifer Johnson has been amazing thus far. Made me feel comfortable and was very straight forward. I've been embarrassed about my situation but she has made me feel better about it all.

I was starting to file with them, but my brother passed away. I had to take care of the financial aspect of my brothers death, I had to put filing on hold. I only put a hundred down, but now am moving. They didn't have compassion enough to give me a refund.I am sure they do a good job, but I wouldn't know due to unfortunate circumstances.

I contracted with this law firm to represent me. I live in Washington State and needed someone in Tennessee to help with a bankruptcy case in which I am a creditor. After the initial telephone consultation, the only contact initiated by Jennifer Johnson, or anyone else at the firm, was to email me someone else's paperwork. I reached out via email and telephone many times over the course of several months. There was no response to email and I was told that Ms. Johnson "would surely get back to me soon" when I spoke to an employee on the phone. Ms. Johnson did not, in fact, get back to me at all. The deadlines have passed for the case, and I am, apparently, out of luck. I really don't understand how a business can stay in business with this kind of shoddy service. I am disgusted, disappointed and angry.

I attempted to file bankruptcy once before (with another firm). The initial experience was not what I expected, so I backed out. Fast forward... I got deeper in debt. Ashamed, afraid that I wouldn't be able to file again since I didn't follow thru with the first firm, and overwhelmed to the point of a physical and mental break, I had to do something. So, I went to the trusty internet... in serious search of help. I filled out several "contact forms" and waited for the expected auto replies. There was one response (via email from a Ms. Valdevento with Long, Burnett and Johnnson) that stood out... explaining "myth #1" about filing for bankruptcy. It made sense to me. But I just put it to the side and read a few others. The next day, I got another email... "myth #2." Not only did this one make sense too, I felt like someone knew exactly what my personal concerns were going into this. I reached out to the phone number listed in the email and made an appointment for a consultation... supposedly free. I was skeptical.
Well, I didn't ask which office to go to (there's one in Nashville, one in Mt, Juliet). I just assumed. Needless to say, my lack of communication skills (at times) got the best of me and I missed the appointment. The person I spoke with however, was completely calm, understanding, and kind. She simply rescheduled me... for the office location convenient for me. Not once did she seem annoyed. She was quite upbeat actually!
The day of the second appointment attempt, I made it! The lady at the front desk was so friendly and made me feel like I was walking into a family gathering, not a stiff office setting. I was still hesitant and nervous... but not for long! Jennifer came out to greet me. She was casually, comfortably, yet professionally dressed... and with a nice, warm smile, full-on eye contact (means alot to me), shook my hand. I was still cautious, but instantly felt welcomed. After speaking with Jennifer for about 10 minutes, through anxiety and tears, I felt the biggest sense relief I've felt in a very... very... very long time.
