smart mouths and are unable to provide correct clarifying information regarding your case. the court states something totally different from what they say and when asking them they are unable to clarify.

It just takes common courtesy. They were all so helpful and nice. I am just blown away with how helpful they were.

I am shocked at some of these reviews!! Mr. Melton and his staff have been nothing short of amazing! They have always been extremely nice every time I have called. They worked with me on a payment plan that I could afford and any time I thought my payment was going to be late, all I had to do was give them a call and keep them up to date. I think I have talked to just about everyone in that office, including Mr. Melton and they have always been professional, friendly and understanding! They truly have great hearts!!

He was very kind and helpful to me and my husband. His staff is very friendly and will take the time to help if they can and if you treat them subhuman, expect the same in return. You get what you give.

After reading the reviews, I was extremely skeptical and nervous to contact this law office. I had received a summons and a letter, indicating that I owed a huge amount of money that I had NO idea that I owed. However, after contacting them, I realized that they are nothing like people say in the reviews. To anyone who is reading this, it's simple. If you owe a debt, pay it! They will even work with you on a payment plan if needed. Just keep your word and they will honor it. I worked directly with Chris, Mr. Melton's paralegal, who was super easy to work with, very understanding, and fair. I ended up paying a fraction of what the summons indicated my debt to be. I only had to pay exactly what I owed plus a small fee to cover the court cost, for the date I would have had to attend. They didn't charge me anything extra and were always pleasant and helpful. I'm very thankful to have worked with good people who made something that seemed so daunting and ominous become simple and painless.

Great Man of God. We had a case with him many years ago and it came back up, due to the fact we never paid. Mr.Melton was kind of enough to settle for the amount we agreed to 5 years ago. He even took the time to talk to my husband after court today. As long as you do what you promise then he will work with you. For everyone else that has rated his office bad I pray for you. Because that probably means you did keep your side of the deal. Praying that more lawyers act like Mr.Melton.

This lawyer is patient, and fair. He will work with you if you speak with him and work to pay your debt.

This is my first time having to deal with this office. I used to live at the Greens of Rivergate(dont even consider living there) Rebecca Shelly is a *&*$!, but that's a different story ! I called the office recently because I was unaware of the eviction I had. First off, it took them quite a while to issue a callback, and when I did eventually get a call back the amount I have to pay is $6000... so I have the court papers that differ the amount , so the lady I spoke with told me to fax the papers to her.. Why have I tried to fax this papers to two different numbers & have since called the office to try and get a working fax number to getting a message saying: " The subscriber you are trying to reach is not accepting calls at this time" . So needless to say Im either going to try and get another court date or file bankruptcy !.. Ill be back with the rest of the story

This guy is such a JERK!!! He has done everything in his power to try and vex me. It all started when the apt complex I was renting from decided not to renew my lease. I went into the office to pay my rent and renew my lease and was told that I needed to move that same day because they had already rented out my apt. I was in no way prepared to move out with only a days notice so I wrote them out a check for my rent and gave it to the complex manager and she refused to take it so I put it in the drop box and stayed in my apt until they had to rightfully evict me (which they did do). Once we had to appear in court va melton was very rude and demeaning for no apparent reason. Speaking to me and the other defendants that he was suing as if we were animals. When it came my time to speak with him in private he was very disrespectful. When I spoke up and told him that his behavior was uncalled for he started to yell and curse me out and call me "stupid" I was baffled by his behavior and refused to allow him to speak to me in that manner so I declined settling the case with him (Because of the way he spoke to me I thought he was a punk and would try and trick me out of more money or something) Which meant we had to go back before the judge and to make a long story short I was ordered to pay his client $735 for rent and like $300 in court cost and $200 in his attorney fees totaling $1235. After the judgment was entered I offered to pay right then and there and va melton refused my payment and told me to contact his office instead. I called his office several times to make the payment and was informed by several different people there that they had been given specific orders not to except my payment or to talk to me. So after several failed attempts to reach out to va melton about paying my judgment I simply left a message requesting an update after he had cashed the check that I gave to the complex manager so I could send him a check for the remaining balance. I'll have you know that this nincompoop never cashed the check. Instead he thought it would be a great idea to levy my bank acct. Which is fine it was his money anyway but then I had to pay the bank a fee for having to process the levy... So shortly after the levy I contact his office requesting something showing the acct had been satisfied and of course they still couldn't talk to me. I assumed everything was fine because he had taken the $1235 that I was ordered to pay from my acct until today I get home to another letter from my bank stating there has been yet another levy on my acct for $700 and of course another fee, so subsequently a $1235 bill has cost me over $2000 to resolve all because va melton felt like being a JERKFACE because he couldn't intimidate me with his bully/demeaning tactics. Oh well you win some you lose some" va get over it!" You have your money, you tried your hardest to vex me but it didn't work. Money rules the world around me but it doesn't rule me. I am happy and successful because I treat people with respect and people actually like me. You are old, ornery and miserable and you envy the youth and love for life you saw in my eyes as I smiled at you and bid you goodbye as you rudely did not hold the elevator for me when we were leaving from court......lol.
