Elder Law of East Tennessee is amazing! My family and I found them in 2017 and we have been with them ever since. Bailey Schiermeyer is our attorney and she is so kind, caring and patient. She helped us with my parents Estate planning and she is always there if we need anything. Bailey is a perfect fit for my family. Hailey Michel-Evleth helped my family and I navigate the waters of Medicaid and all the ends and outs of it. We would have been lost without her. Also, she has always been so patient as we tried to understand Medicaid and just how it works. Thank you Hailey! Kyra Clements is absolutely amazing as she has been there for everything that my family has gone through since my dad was placed in a nursing home. She has gone to bat for us so many times and she will never know just how much that has truly meant. Kyra you are one special lady and we love you. And last but certainly not least is our beautiful Keri Hart who man's the front desk at Elder Law. Keri is just so special as she always cheers me up if I am down and she is such an amazing person. These girls, Bailey, Hailey, Kyra and Keri are not just our Elder Law team but they are now a part of our family. Their service, commitment and love for not only my family but I'm sure for all the families they serve, are just amazing. We love you and appreciate all you have done for us in the past and for all the days yet to come as you fight for not only our family but all the families who are honored and privileged to retain you and know you.

Amelia and her team have instrumental in helping me with Special Needs trust planning for my daughter. She went above and beyond, with many phone calls, staying on the phone with me during conversations with insurance, government and agencies to help me. We went through a lengthy and complex appeal process for medicaire benefits. She is very compassionate, patient, attentive and an excellent communicator. Did I mention she also is a fine lawyer? I highly recommend her team. A true jewell.

I honestly don't even know where to begin! I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders that I've carried around for 3 years! As regular folks, we have NO idea the complexity of senior estate planning, benefits or assistance (if needed). We hired Elder Law of East TN less than three months ago and now my 84-year-old mother, who has dementia, is living somewhere safe and beautiful with wonderful staff and round-the-clock care! I could have never figured this all out on my own. Julia, Jill and Hailey are my heros!! If you have an aging parent that's going to need assistance and you don't know where to turn... PLEASE get in touch with these fine people. They WANT to help, they know HOW to help... they WILL help! Peace and love to you all!

We are so grateful for Julia and Elder Law of E TN! Before going there, we had so many different people giving us such a variety of advice with all the confusion that went along with it. At our meeting, Julia was thorough, compassionate, and clear. Her knowledge and easy style helped ease much of my mom's stress as we discussed finances and dad's medical needs.

We are fortunate to have found Elderlaw of East Tennessee. My in-laws had a complicated situation with an auto accident, needing extended care and providing for a special needs child. Elderlaw has helped us not only navigate the complicated legal and financial matters, but since they have a full team to address all the care needs, we are able to make sure everyone is getting the care they need as well.

I don't like to leave bad reviews our family had a good experience at our consultation but what's happened since or should I say what hasn't happened since, I have nothing good to say about. Our consult was Oct 30, they asked for the $400 consultation fee first thing, which we expected and gladly paid. We had our meeting and were told that a package with the attorney's recommendations would be sent to us for our family's review. After a couple of weeks and no papers I called to inquire, Nov 14 to be exact and was told by the lady who answered the phone that she didn't have anything to be mailed out to us then was transferred to the voicemail of the attorney's assistant. I left a detailed voicemail with my number & asked for a call back with an update and time we could expect the papers. As I type this, Dec 3 we have still yet to receive the papers let alone a returned call from the voicemail I left the assistant on Nov 14. I am extremely disappointed and upset with this company, the neglect and total disregard to follow through with what we were told is unacceptable yet they had no problem taking my 85 year old mothers $400. We are in the very same position as we were when we came to them for the help with my mothers estate planning etc... Now we will have to seek another attorney to help with that and no doubt be out another X amount of money for another consultation. I hope no one else has the experience we have had with this company.

To not give them the a full 5 star kudos would be a great disservice to this wonderful group of people. I walked into their doors about 2 weeks after I admitted my father to the emergency room. I went in there with my head hung low and my heart in despair. After the first 30 minutes of being shown our options on the white board, I was sold! With every curve ball thrown during our experience with dad's life care, they have been there with option upon option to keep his progress on track. They are compassionate, caring and approachable. I am able to get a response within 30 minutes at all hours of the day and night. If you have a parent or senior in need life care guidance, these are your folks! Thank you everyone!

I am VERY happy with the solutions that the team at Elder Law of East Tennessee provided for my Mom's situation. No doubt there were others there that helped, but the ones that I had contact with were Malinda, Bailey, Jana, and Hailey; they are all very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend them to anyone needing help with their elder loved one's affairs. The only regret that I have is the worry that I put myself through trying to figure all of this out on my own before I called them!!

All staff are professional, courteous and listen to your concerns. Amelia knows everything about law. And what she doesn't know she quickly finds the information.
Jill seems to be very good at networking. She knows just who to contact and what to say to them.

We received help for legal documents and for our own documents. It was very "standard" service. Our lawyer met with us wearing stretch tights and a shirt. We paid a good amount of money and unfortunately my father passed away a few weeks later. We informed our lawyer and we did not get as much as a condolence note. Very disappointed.

After exhibiting minor symptoms of dementia for some time, my 82 year old father fell and broke his hip. After the hip surgery my father’s dementia increased significantly. My 80 year old mother and my sister and I were quickly overwhelmed and we needed help. My parents had a small but significant “nest egg” of life savings.
When we first visited Elder Law of East Tennessee, Amelia and her staff made us feel most welcome. Amelia had already analyzed our situation and she was fully prepared. We sat in a private conference room where Amelia made diagrams on a white board and used layman’s terms to explain all of our options and her recommendations. These methods were exactly what we needed to easily understand what our choices were and exactly how Elder Law of East Tennessee would be able to help us. This was just a preview of the excellence and professionalism that she and her staff have consistently demonstrated from day 1. Incidentally, we have just signed up for our third year with Elder Law of East Tennessee. We could not do all of the things they are doing, nor would we have time, nor would we even know how.
Besides their outstanding estate and benefits planning, Amelia and her staff provide outstanding customer support. They promptly return emails and phone calls and they are proactive about the changing needs and conditions of the dementia patient and the patient’s immediate family. They even make visits to my parents’ home to help with benefits forms and agency questions by telephone and in-person visits. This is a huge help for my parents as they are easily confused and have great difficulty with complicated subjects. Amelia and her staff have earned our trust and our gratitude. They genuinely care about their clients and we have experienced this first hand time and time again.
I have nothing but the highest praise for Amelia and her staff. Elder Law of East Tennessee has been a blessing to us during these challenging times for my parents and my family and we would be so much worse off without their help. A heartfelt “Thank you” to Amelia, Julia, Jill, and Kyra.

Elder Law of East Tennessee has been a blessing to our family. It is hard enough to deal with both parents needing nursing care at the same time, but Elder Law has been nothing short of a miracle for us. We did not know how to maneuver all the elder laws concerning estate and long term care but with their guidance and assistance we now have a plan. I highly recommend their services.

We have been working with Elder Law of East Tennessee on the very complicated matter of planning for my mother and father-in-law's estate. Neither of them have done any pre-planning and unfortunately they are both now suffering from early stage and progressed dementia. The team at Elder Law of East Tennessee are FANTASTIC!!! They have developed a clear, concise and comprehensive plan to facilitate the care that our family members need, while at the same time protecting their assets as well as directing us for future planning for them. I cannot say enough positive things about this team. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone in a similar situation or to anyone who wants to pre-plan their estate. Much appreciation to Julia, Victoria, Kyra and Jill, although the ENTIRE team is AWESOME!!!! Thanks so much for making this process much smoother than we could ever have imagined. We handed you a box of lemons and you made us delicious lemonade AND and lemon pie :)

I was very skeptical when we first were briefed and oriented on ELET services and costs. The price for twelve months of estate planning seemed quite exorbitant and I questioned the value to my elderly parents, given their advanced age and limited assets. After an extensive family discussion there was mutual concurrence to proceed with ELET's program. The team of social, legal and financial resources went to work and within 6 months the revenue of our parents was increased to the point that 2/3 of the initial investment was returned to their savings account. Additionally, new legal documents were provided, which were much more comprehensive than previous documents my parents had prepared several years earlier. Various deeds had to be quit-claimed to help protect the asset, which ELET performed completely. Jill, the social worker, has made numerous trips to the house to help our parents with various social services, which has provided a much improved standard of living. The increased revenue has allowed for professional care-givers to be hired to help with daily chores such as vacuuming, meals, laundry, showers, and errands. This is a very comprehensive approach to estate protection, while allowing accommodation of individual family circumstances to maximize resources. I highly recommend ELETs team approach to estate planning.

We want to express our gratitude for all you have done for us.
The friendliness of the people we met was reminiscent of warmer days in our society, the patience you showed us as you had to explain things (sometimes several times) was exemplary, and it was comforting to know that you were far more aware of our needs than we were.
You gave us a decidedly better experience than we could have anticipated and we thank you,
