The initial minimum contract fee was 8000$. I was told that should handle everything unless we were in court for weeks. It was used up extremely fast. I was charged just to call and find out if there was any new word. The firm charged my credit card and have cost me more than double what I was quoted. There was very poor communication. My calls and emails were not answered in a timely manner. Representation was poor as well. Alot of the documents I was asked to provide were not even brought to court. I asked for copies of everything notes and all. I was given a flash drive without the documents I requested. This place is a scam. Money is the motive not the childrens best interest. Before court he told me he was going to argue being a veteran was not reason enough to keep the children from me but later that week he was going to argue the opposite for another client. My case was dragged out and I was milked for everything I could spare.

Hiring this firm was a horrible decision. Please save your money and take it elsewhere.

THIS FIRM STILL HASNT PROVIDED THE DOCUMENTS OF MINE I REQUESTED AND ARE STILL TRYING TO KEEP BILLING ME. GOOD THING I GOT RID OF THE CARD THEY HAD ON FILE............

THIS FIRM NEVER FINISHED THE JOB. THEY EVEN CHARGED ME AGAIN THEN SENT IT TO COLLECTIONS. THIS PLACE IS BAD BUSINESS. I'M AT THE POINT WHERE I'M JUST WORKING WITH MY EXWIFE AND HER LAWYER TO GET THE JOB FINISHED..........

I don’t know where to start!!! As a father every dream is to raise his son and make them a better man than the father is. Unfortunately that dream was dimmed before the birth of my son. Within the first month of my sons life I had to look into obtaining an attorney. After consulting with two other law firms McIlveen was they ONLY firm that gave assurance that they would go full throttle in my defense. In 5 month my appointed paralegal and attorney left the firm and that was an atestment to quality of work that McIlveen represents. Unfortunately my appointed attorney left 4 days before my hearing. Chelsea and Sean did not hesitate to step in and they did not miss a beat in my case. I could have not been more pleased with their work ethic and determination to fight in my defense. The demeanor that I wanted to displayed in this case was second nature to them and they put on a world renown performance in the court room. They had an determination to prove that mothers are not the law and that fathers do deserve to be fathers. If I could demand an encore I would. Not only did they get the results I desired but the entire firm from attorneys, paralegals, secretaries all reached out within 30mins to an hour of the decision by the judge. That craziest part is we are not done. I can not thank nor praise the McIlveen Law Firm for boulder they lifted off my shoulders in the case for my 5 month old son. If you are in need of the proper respresention for custody, child support, or anything involving family law DO NOT HESITATE TO HIRE MCILVEEN FAMILY LAW FIRM. Other family law firm will not be bulldogs on the courtroom.

Very disappointed with their services overall. They handled a case for me and I did most of the preparation to lower the cost and initially paid $2000 upfront just to have representation at one court appearance. The case was continued and the lawyer didn't even argue that the opposing party listened to testimony and her presentation before requesting his own attorney and continuance. Still paying an additional $500+ after case has ending for misc fees associated with removal of council. So basically charged over $2500, the case is still not settled and having to obtain another attorney. Would give 0 stars if I could and wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless you have a lot of money to waste. They originally wanted to charge $10k, then said $6500 to help and suggested I borrow the money from someone or put on a credit card. Sad because in my situation, our safety is a concern and it's like amount of finances we have available right now is being put against maintaining safety and we are being taken advantage of. I only chose them because they were listed as top lawyers in Charlotte, should have read reviews first of them taking advantage of people financially.

I would highly recommend McIlveen family law. McIlveen accepted my case five years into a contentious, complicated divorce litigation. Other firms turned their backs on me due to my financial situation, but Angela McIlveen accepted the challenge. Angela is intelligent, honest and most importantly, she cares about her clients. My case is not a fun one. But Angela has stuck with me through a lot of challenging motions and hearings. If you are looking for an attorney who has your back and does a bang up job in court, Angela should be your first choice.

Would have given 5 stars if it had been communicated to me that my divorce had been finalized and signed off by the judge..... My divorce case was actually final and signed by a judge for a week before i found out, when I emailed inquiring on a status update. Was pleased with all aspects of my dealings with them except for the end.
