UPDATE: On August 7th, 2019 The Grievance Committee Of The NC State Bar found probable cause to issue Attorney Thom Goolsby a Reprimand for his professional misconduct in the handling of my case.

It's so funny to read all of the positive reviews of Mr Goolsby. I hired him to represent me in a personal injury claim that has left me with a life altering disability and cost me my career. He was my attorney for 2 yrs 11 months and I never met the man. No one EVER reached out to me, I always had to call the office. After 2.5 yrs I had to push for a meeting. The attorney that finally met with me was obviously unfamiliar with my claim. I was told at that meeting that they were going to proceed with filing suit. Five months later they still had not filed suit. When I began to complain, Mr Goolsby terminated our attorney/client relationship. This was 40 days prior to the statute expiring. Once I received a copy of my file from his office, it was shocking how little work had actually been done on my case. The adjuster had actually contacted Mr Goolsby 11 months prior to Mr Goolsby terminating our contract, offering to settle my case. AND IN 11 MONTHS NO ONE FROM MR GOOLSBY'S OFFICE EVER RESPONDED!! The lack of integrity, morals and work ethic shown to me by Mr Goolsby, after being hired to represent my best interest, is criminal to say the least.

I have known Thom Goolsby since 2006 when I needed to retain his services at that time. Thom took care of that traffic case for me and I felt that he did great. I was charged with DUI (.07 BAC) in 2010 and immediately decided to go with the attorney that had worked for me in the past. I will confess I figured that I would probably hear “your best and safest bet will be to take the plea” and suffer the consequences having at least minimized the charge and avoiding jail time.
