Doug filed several years ago. The help received then was timely and very personable. Since filing he had a serious and very major life change with an above the knee amputation and a double arterial bypass. This started in May of 2018 and was hospitalized through December 4th. Update: Most of the original people in the Greensboro office that I remembered are gone and these new people are there to help the firm...not you! I wonder sometime if there's a different standard between the treatment of African Americans and Caucasian Americans? I felt very uncomfortable!! Just got a ruling from the bankruptcy court that wasn't in my favor because my case was never filed! That meant no representation from my lawyer in court!! Didn't want to rate them the one star...

They made this an excellent experience. This was a hard decision for our family and this office treated us with the highest respect. My first encounter was with Nilah Chobot for my initial consultation. She was very professional, kind, and non judgmental to the point of my feeling very comfortable. My case paralegal was Tina Moore. Tina was also very professional, had empathy, answered all my questions, kept in touch by email, which was refreshing and timely. I most certainly was appreciative. Last but not least the Secretary, Barbara Rivers, was most pleasant & kind by giving me info over the phone before setting my appointment. The whole process has been flawless thanks to the staff.

There was only ONE document I needed to turn in to be done with my case. Something happened in the mail and it didnt get to me until AFTER 5PM on Friday 06 Sep 19. I got it and furiously ran to the N. Raleigh office to turn it in and not have my case dismissed. Jennell Raynor (who was off of work and just sitting in her car) took my document into the closed office and turned it into Charlene E. (WHO IS WONDERFUL BTW). Her graciousness was unmatched. 08/29/2019: This is my follow up review for The Law Offices John T. Orcutt after my filing, court appearance and bankruptcy discharge. The whole team did an excellent job and I recommend them highly. On my day in court I had the fortune of being one of the last folks called. During my observations while waiting I noticed that several people not represented by The Law Offices who appeared with their lawyers did not have all of their paperwork ready for the judge. After about the fourth incident like that, the judge announced to the whole court audience that two specific forms were required and that they should be ready before they sit down before the judge. Lee was my attorney from The Law Offices and he advised me that he had me covered after the judge made his announcement. When it was finally my turn, Lee had everything the judge asked for and in the right order. Things went very smoothly. Some other practices may charge less, but the peace of mind that comes with knowing that you are in great hands is priceless. Many thanks to Lee, Joshua and the many others that worked behind the scenes to help us out when we needed it.

I was then sent to Joe Nichols, who would handle my case from there.

He reinforced that I am NOT a bad person for having to declare bankruptcy. I am NOT a failure. I will NOT be treated badly in court. My family's experience with Orcutt was outstanding. In a short period of time in 2017-2018, my family's life flipped upside down with the unexpected death of a family member (aging parent that wasn't financially prepared), and shorty thereafter our teenage son was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. Large, unexpected medical expenses and other debts caught up with us in a big way and Orcutt's team helped put together the type of Chapter 13 repayment plan we needed at the time to put things back on the right track for us again. I can't thank Anna enough for working with both my mother-in-law and later myself at in-take, and then Joe N (our Paralegal) was a consummate professional to help us through the next phase of collecting A LOT of information needed to file our case. He was absolutely outstanding to work with every step of the way, and calmed our fears and concerns when it was needed most! I highly recommend Orcutt if you need to seek legal advice on financial difficulties.

At risk of losing my vehicle and smothering daily stress, I made the decision to reach out for help . From the start with Anna downstairs to finishing up with Joe Nichols upstairs, I was treated with a surprising level of kindness and respect. They are great when helping you file your bankruptcy but once you are in a plan it is very difficult to get anyone to assist you or call you back when you have questions. The lady that answers the phone is very rude.
