I received a speeding ticket which was really bad. I was really concerned and my initial conversation put my mind at rest (but I was still worried). The attorney gave me his plan of action and he did as he said. We closed my case this week and although dismissal was out of the question I got a end result better than I thought. Attorney Wells came right in and got me in out of the court in a matter of minutes. I would deal with Monks Law Firm again if I needed good legal support.

Terrible lawyer you barely talk to him getting an actual appointment to speak with him is almost impossible he only directs you to his secretaries and most of the time you don't even know what's going on with your case

I had an last minute case with no notice on child custody. Toni, the assistant, managed to find me an attorney in their firm to take my case. Todd, my attorney, stepped in with 5 minutes conversation with me and won my case. I hughly recommend using them, as not only do they know their way around the courtroom but they are priced reasonably.

I contacted Monks Law Firm looking at the excellent reviews on Google. Steve is extremely rude. His firm was supposed to draft an agreement for me and after 1 hour of talking to him and sending him a very detailed follow up email of the terms of agreement, they promised to get it done in 10 days. After 10 days, all i get is a generic document that he could've given it to anyone without any specifics of my terms. When i called to check on it, he was fiery and rude and being extremely passive aggressive trying to be defensive about missing his deadline. More than the agreement not being done, i was upset at how rude and unprofessionally he spoke. I would never ever go to him again and advise others to stay away from him too.

Steve and his team worked over and above what we expected. Made us feel like one of the family for sure. Great job guys. Love this family.

This is an absolute unprofessional, pathetic clown. My wife and I are adopting an infant family member. He was referred to us through my wife’s employer. We met with him, and although he admitted he didn’t really do adoptions (although he advertises he practices “family law”), he indicated our case was very straightforward and would represent us. A couple weeks later, he sends my wife a message that read verbatim “we’re all good”. He CLAIMS he went to speak with Social Services and had everything lined up. A few weeks later, the baby is born. We sent him an email that evening. The next day we tried to call, and his secretary said he was in court and would fax the documents we needed as soon as he got back. He did not. The next day, same story. So, while he was supposedly in court, I went to his office. He was there, not in court. When I explained that the hospital was waiting for the documents in order to release the child to us, hi exact response was “well you need to schedule an appointment”. I explained we simply needed him to fax, or simply hand me, the documents. He explained that he hadn’t actually begun to work on our case at all. As I composed myself, he then told me it would be best if I just found a different attorney. I pleaded with him and agreed to make an appointment. He then stormed off. His secretary told me there were no appointments available until the following week. I then stated I would pay any amount of money on the spot, amazingly an appointment materialized the next day. No thanks.

During our initial consult, he seemed very uneducated and poor spoken for an attorney. His office was in disrepair, and he was slovenly dressed. My instinct was to run far away, but stupidly I resisted that I instinct, as I was trying hard not to judge based on outward appearances. Folks, trust yourselves.

I strongly encourage people not to avoid Steve Monks, but to seek a consult. After that, trust your gut. If you come away feeling confident in his services, I pray for you. Most likely, after he stammers his way through his spiel after consulting google for legal advice, you’ll realize there has to be better options. Steve was willing to abandon my family in the middle of a complicated time after he professed to help, all because he forgot to do his job, or more likely, realized he couldn’t, because he is clearly dim witted and unprepared for anything other than traffic court. Maybe he’s good at getting speeding tickets reduced, but don’t go to him with major issues. I certainly wouldn’t trust my freedom to him, unless you want to end up consulting a jailhouse lawyer in prison. Although, he’d probably do a better job than Steve.

I can give credit when an effort is given, even if the results are less than expected. However, Steve gave zero effort, and when given the opportunity, chose to run . Until he was offered a blank check, then he could help me.
