I petitioned the Hardin County Division Of Child Support to decrease my child support after one of my two children had turned 18 and had graduated from high school. I received papers from the Division of Child Support that had calculated my order of child support for TWO children. I called the Division asking why is was calculated for both children when one was past 18, would be 19 before my court date, and a high school graduate. I was told that I would have to pay child support for BOTH children until BOTH were 18 years of age and graduated from high school. She even went on to tell me that was their policy unless the children were three or more years apart. I researched constantly to disprove her statement but found one source that backed their statement. I conceded that was what I would have to do until I called the Dowan Law Office and was assigned to Ms. Meagan Carek. I was apprehensive after looking up her history and seeing that she had only been practicing law for about two years but I called and I told her my situation. She said they were incorrect but she would contact the Division of Child Support and get all the info. She said she didn't want me to pay for her services if she couldn't help me. Not long afterwards Ms. Carek called back stating she spoke with the division, they recognized their mistake, and they would recalculate my order of child support. That dropped my order of child support by over $200.00 a month! Ms Carek even stated that she didn't believe I would need her services any further but that I was able to continue with her if I felt I needed more assurance. Most of all Ms Carek didn't charge me a dime! If I ever need legal help in the future Dowan Law Office is the first place I call and I suggest anyone and everyone else do the same. Thanks Ms Carek for you help. I couldn't have hoped for a better experience.

I'm from Texas and was in need of a reputable attorney in Kentucky to handle my matters for me without my presence at each hearing. LeeAnn went above and beyond for me. We only spoke over the telephone and never had the opportunity to actually meet face to face. I would normally never handle business that way, but because of her reputation, I knew that I was in good hands. Her staff was always so helpful and willing to answer any and all questions that I had at anytime. The other plus to LeeAnn, was that I actually spoke with her. That was one of the things that I liked about her office. I was never passed off. I think of The Dowan FIrm as "One and Done". Without going into too much detail, as stated I reside in Texas and had an ongoing custody battle. Being that the case originated in Texas but was in Kentucky due my child residing in Kentucky and the other parent petitioning there, the case took back up in Kentucky until LeeAnn pointed out that the opposing party had not yet properly requested the transfer of the case from Texas to Kentucky. Resulting in the case having to resume in Texas where it began. Having multiple attorney's in different states can be very pricey, LeeAnn worked with me with reasonable rates. I appreciate her so much for her hard work and understanding. If you need someone to fight for you in Kentucky, I would definitely recommend LeeAnn!
