We sold a double wide and the buyer chose this office to take care of title work. We were given less than 2 days notice of the appointment time which was set at 9:30am. This meant both my husband and myself would need to take time off of work. I explained that this was not possible for myself and that we would be willing to come between 4:30-5pm due to the office being a little over an hour from where we live and from where I work. The lady I spoke with completely refused and stated we needed to be there before 4pm or the closing would not happen. She was extremely rude to the point that I eventually hung up. Both us and the buyer tried to work out several different options with the mortgage company and this attorneys office. After the buyer, who knew the attorney personally, made a few calls, the lady agreed to stay until 5 so that we could come the next day. I picked my husband up from work on the way. Unfortunately, he left his wallet with identification in his work truck and did not realize until we were within minutes from the office. When we informed the lady we were dealing with, her response was “eye rolling”. I was allowed to sign my part however she refused to allow my husband to sign without his DL as the forms needed to be signed in front of a notary. We offered to fax a copy the next morning but she refused. We may not have liked this, as it meant my husband had to make arrangements to take off work and return to the office the next morning, but we understood. He went back the next morning with his DL and signed all forms not in the presence of a notary but the receptionists who told him the lady would notarize them when she got to the office. From the first phone call to the final dot on the paper, we experienced completely poor customer service and rudeness.
