He explained the seriousness of my situation in terms and language I could easily understand. He was very clear in laying out what he would do as my representative in court and what the cost for his services would be. At no time did I feel I was getting a business sales pitch. Just honest information. He also gave me a number of suggestions of things I could do and supply him with that would possibly help my case.
During the period of time between when I signed on with the firm and the court date, his staff remained in contact with me, providing help and information as I needed it. At our appearance in court, he maintained a very professional and knowledgible demeanor, which again offered a calming atmosphere in an otherwise extremely stressful situation.
Mr. McGrady was successful in getting the summons and penalties significantly reduced. All of the suggestions he gave to me prior to court were very helpful in his achieving the positive outcome. I am very thankful for his services and highly recommend his firm. I certainly would not think twice about calling on his firm again in the future.
With due respect Sir, I would like to thank you and your professional and respectful staff for your representation and counsel with my case of reckless operation in the great state of Virginia. Without knowing your firm, you made me feel comfortable from the start and I am humbled by your sincere guidance and understanding regarding my case. While of course there was no guaranteed outcome, I would accept any verdict because I knew I had the best firm on my side during this trying time.
It is a honor and would like to say congrats for a career spanning 45 years this month of March, 2018.
You sir and your staff are a credit to your profession .
Thank you
Jerry M Webb
Jonathan McGrady has been very helpful and accommodating. As a disabled veteran, sometimes I have specific considerations that need understanding. Mr. McGrady has not hesitated to step in and champion me in my time of need.
The first time we retained Mr McGrady was when my teenage son received a ticket while in a rush to get home to make a call date to his girlfriend who was in Europe. The speeding was excessive and could have caused problems for my son's driving privileges. My wife was having medical issues and needed my son to be able to drive her when I couldn't. Mr. McGrady stepped in and was able to have the ticket changed to defective equipment.
Another time my other son didn't see a piece of debris in the road until it was too late, and ran over it, and the car went into a ditch. No one else was involved but a police officer drove by as my son was getting out. The officer wrote a reckless driving, citing failure to maintain control. Mr. McGrady stepped in and took care of everything.
Still another time, our town had just changed to new unmarked cars and they were monitoring traffic on the road side in a newly finished construction area. I had my cruise control on and saw the car with the blacked out windows. I was focused on the strange smoky looking car sitting on the opposite shoulder and didn't see the new speed sign. the car turned around and followed me onto the highway before turning on its lights and the officer wrote a ticket. Mr. McGrady succeeded in having the ticket completely dismissed.
Mostly recently, the speedometer in my truck started jumping erratically and I was matching speed with other vehicles but was last in the line and became the unlucky winner. Mr. McGrady easily managed to have the ticket changed to defective equipment.
Mr McGrady gave a discount because I'm a disabled veteran, but with each traffic ticket, he discounted his fees for returning to his firm.
In four ticket with three people, one of them unquestionably our own fault, Mr McGrady has always succeeded in managing a favorable resolution.
I highly recommend this firm.
Thankfully this was my first offense and I was respectful to the officer.... because of these factors, including Mr. McGrady’s professionalism and reputation; he was able to represent me in court without me having to appear (& miss time away from work)...he was able to get my ticket reduced to defective equipment! Mr. McGrady saved me thousands of dollars and spared my driving record! He and his office staff are very professional kind. They have manners and southern charm. Highly recommend! Don’t pay a ticket without speaking to them first!
If you ever catch yourself in a legal matter, I highly recommend choosing this firm.
They are honest people that can almost 99.99% guarantee whats going to be the final result of a case.
My best experience using this firm was that if I had any questions or concerns I could talk with Mr McGrady himself who him and his son almost have a combined 85+ years of law experience.
They really make you feel appreciated and I am very pleased with the outcome.
Thanks Team.
Do yourself a favor and look no further ...
McGrady & McGrady fit the bill.
Johnathon is top drawer, efficient, very knowledgeable, and such wonderful manners and truely an asset to Carroll County and Hillsville VA.
The officer was nice to me, since I cooperated with him. I pulled over as soon as I can, had my license and registration ready, and rolled my windows down. I tried not to sound hostile, since the guy was only trying to do his job.
I researched some lawyers, and have had some that told me they may be able to change the charge to a non-moving violation, but all sounded uncertain. They said it may be a stretch, but they will try. Finally, I called McGrady and McGrady's law firm. The secretary answered the phone, and handed it over to McGrady. He sounded confident that he can help bump down the charge to a non-moving violation, meaning it will not affect my license or insurance (results may vary depending on the insurance company's policy). He was slightly pricier than other people, but offered me a discount since I am a student (I think most firms do, either that or I have been getting lucky).
I asked him what he needed, and surprisingly, just a copy of the ticket, and a signature on the contract. No proof of my GPA, proof of attending a driving course, community service, speedometer calibration test, as others have asked of me. If he was that confident, and has had a lot of experience, then I should hire him. I paid him in full as soon as I could, and emailed the firm the required documents. I was not disappointed.
I ended up having to pay 200$ for a non moving violation, or defective equipment, to be more specific. It's still a bit hefty for a defective equipment fine, but Virginia have pretty strict traffic laws. After reading other people's stories, this is pretty much the best case scenario.
Service was great, they emailed me a copy of the court's decision the afternoon of the trial. The secretary was nice, and it was easy to communicate with the firm.
As I did with the first ticket, I received a bunch of ambulance chasing letters in the mail for discount legal services. However, due to the severity of the pending charges, I researched to find an attorney I felt best suited for the job and well integrated in the local community. Not only did Joe seem to have tremendous tenor in Hillsville, VA where I received the ticket, but he was also very familiar with the arresting officer and local judges. In addition, Joe called me back in the evening hours after I left a message at their office that day which was closed for a Holiday.
I chose to spend several hundred dollars more for Joe to defend me, and considering the outcome of a reduced charge for improper equipment and no points to my license, I'd say it was a wise decision. The extra money spent for Joseph McGrady was well worth it in my opinion! Thank you Joe and team!
