As an injury law firm, they are not bad. But please DO NOT USE them for your divorce. They did nothing for me in over three years. I never received my 401K from my ex, personal property she owed me, and they dropped me because I was questioning their work ethic and what they were going to do to help me fight my ex's lies. They literally told me, in an email, they were tired of fighting with my ex's council, and that is their job. What does that tell you? Plus, they are very expensive, and rude.

I worked with Mallory Brennan, who is kind, caring, passionate, hard working, reliable, and a dedicated attorney. I felt like she really understood what I was going through, including the personal and financial impact of divorce. She was instrumental to the process going as smoothly as it did and I highly recommend her services.

Attention to detail and friendliness

Showed up for an appointment and attorney couldn't make it. We were not notified prior to showing up.

For small business I would not recommend. The paperwork, Extremely Basic templates, that I paid close to $1,000 for could have been accomplished on Rocket Lawyer. The Membership Agreement had my buyers name spelled incorrectly and no SCC ID # listed for my business. I was told/emailed that he could not find my business on the site. Had he scrolled to my email Signature line he would have found all the information needed to look my business up right there. I was charged $467 for that Template that I corrected the errors on and filled in the missing information. In the end we did not use it. We used my Buyers attorney, for half the price, who actually did type in all the specific accounts information plus our individualized expectations. More importantly, I knew by the work that I was not a priority in any way. He was a very pleasant man and I can only speak for the selling of a small business.

Erica Baez has helped me with a very tough child custody case. She is very passionate about what she does and she also has a lot of experience and knowledge in her field. Even though it is very expensive. I would recommend her to anyone who has a tough case.

After many months with another law firm, I was referred to Erica Giovanni Baez by the GAL in my case. Knowing my case was complex, I was very hesitant going from a 30 year veteran to a young, associate attorney. Our first meeting, Mrs. Baez spoke quite frankly about the "reality" of my case and assured me she would get me to the finish line as fast and painlessly, as possible. She did just that!! Maneuvering through many months of unorganized records, she worked diligently with me (even on weekends) untangling the debacle of a high conflict case and ensuring full preparedness moving forward. Honest, kind, considerate, smart, savvy, and a straight-shooter, Mrs. Baez along with her entire team at Owens & Owens deserve more than a five star review in handling a very difficult case with ease and integrity!
My initial concern of handing my case over to "young" Baez proved to be the BEST decision I made. She not only surpassed my expectations, she knocked the "more experienced" council out of the ballpark.

Terrible Attention to my case after they blew thru a $2000 retainer they sent me a bill for every breath they took while failing to represent. They even charged me to send me a bill for calling me on the phone & then put it on my credit even though they were paid in advance saying I owed them money???

I went to this office based on reviews from here and just general knowledge found online. While the staff was pleasant, I was told verbally by Julie Cillo attorney that my separation agreement and divorce could be done easily for the retainer required of $1500.00 This was a bold lie, I was charged that and easily 500 more for just the separation agreement to be executed, and the reason being, because of the wording change, and communication between Ms. Cillo and her minions, which by the way are nice and do all the work. I am still getting billed for ludicrous charges and was told to get the divorce final it would at least be an additional 750 dollars to what I had already forked out!. This company doesn't care, makes up rediculous charges to suck dry a retainer and cares nothing about a client's budget or hardships. Do not get them to represent you unless you have money to throw away. I feel violated by these people and feel there is no way of getting justice.

The previous review was written by my ex, who was not represented by this firm. Though he was responsible for reimbursing me for the invoices per our agreement, I was the client. I cannot express how helpful Ms. Skiba-Rokosky was throughout this entire process. She was friendly, personable, and extremely knowledgeable and professional. Owen and Owens has received numerous awards in the area, and their hourly rates are comparable (even lower) to other firms in the region, as I made several calls to area law firms to inquire about rates before choosing Owen and Owens. This was not a “cut and dry” marital settlement agreement, as it involved property outside of the state with numerous stipulations between the parties regarding the sale. Ms. Skiba-Rokosky was very diligent and made sure the wording was appropriate to reflect the needs of the property and the timeframe involved. I would definitely recommend this firm!

VERY expensive law firm; downright outrageous. You can do better...especially in Richmond.
They'll charge you $50-$75 per e-mail that you send them even if you are merely answering a question. They'll charge you another $38 to have a meeting on your case (that's a meeting between the lawyer and her secretary over basic items). $10 for a notary that's free at a bank. If there's a phone call, the amount could get outrageous quick.
I'd highly recommend going to someone else, otherwise, standby to spend a fortune. No case, especially as simple as mine was, will be under $2,000.
....and if they mess something up, you'll pay for it.

My experience with Mr. Joe Owen & Kimberly Skiba have been positive. They listen to what I had to say. Responded to my phone calls & emails. Knew the law and quickly stood up to The Commissioner of Accounts blocking my every effort to claim monies from my family. This is the only law firm you need in the state of Virginia. My cousin had recommended Owen & Owens after other law firms had let me down. Thank you for being ethical.
