Words cannot describe how pleased I was with the representation of Clayton Worthington. As he was leaving a previous firm, I was asked whether I wanted to remain as a client of that firm, or whether I wanted to continue with Mr. Worthington. I could not have made a better choice than to remain with Mr. Worthington.

To elaborate, just a bit, Mr. Worthington was patient, but yet, he kept me on track and helped to keep my focus as I was experiencing a difficult time. He listened, well, to what I wanted to accomplish and continued to ask necessary questions as we moved forward without making any assumptions without consulting me. As things were reaching a closing, I had complete trust in him where I even put aside my own personal subjective opinions and allowed him to remain objective and provide me with solid options.

While I do not suspect that he has gone through his own personal concerns comparable to my own, he remained understanding of my circumstances and showed an amount of compassion that I would not have expected from an attorney of his caliber.

As to whether I could recommend Mr. Worthington to others? Glad, and strongly! I was recommended to a partner at Mr. Worthington’s prior firm, but by coincidence and circumstances at that time, that person became unavailable, and my case was placed with Clayton Worthington. Being, myself, a prayerful person, my prayer was answered in having such a coincidence turn into such a blessing.

I thank him for his work and his efforts to handle my case the way he handled it.

Thank you, Clayton Worthington!

I went through an excruciating litigation process of child custody and divorce. The whole thing lasted off and on for two years. I retained Mark Michaelson and he was professional, knowledgeable, caring and left no details behind. I am glad it’s over and Mark certainly made the difference tremendously. I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what I went through, but if you have to, get Mark on your side and you won’t regret it.

Incredibly professional attorneys and staff, courteous and caring. I am very satisfied with their service. Mark B. Michelsen’s service was the greatest help in my time of need. I would recommend this firm to anyone seeking representation for family law.

I retained Mark Michelson to represent me for my recent divorce case. We had what we thought should be a straightforward case, so there was an agreed upon fee. We had a snag that caused delays in my case and extra work for Mark, but he did not pass additional fees to me. Everyone at the office has been highly professionall, helpful and prompt at answering emails or calls. I definitely would recommend Mark Michelson and the firm.

Divorce and child custody are particularly painful when you're a father and you don't think you stand a chance in keeping your child safe. Under Mark Michelsen's council, I was able to navigate the complexities surrounding the legal process of keeping primary physical custody of my daughter (as a father) so she could have the best chance at a bright future. Because of Mr. Michelsen's expertise and legal acumen, I am happy to say that my daughter is highly succeeding in her current environment and poised to go on to the college of her choice in 2020. I couldn't be prouder of my daughter today... or more thankful to Mr. Michelsen for his caring nature and for helping me to keep my daughter in an environment that would bring out the best in her today and into the future. I'm thankful and full of gratitude.

I usually don’t engage with social media reviews but I felt compelled to share my experience with Mark Michelsen. He has represented me and my family in several minor & a few more complex challenges. He has always done an exceptional job with a huge dose of heart and compassion. He listens and is able to represent the emotions of our concerns within the appropriate and often confusing constraints of the law. I am grateful and feel so fortunate to have engaged with such an incredible attorney. He truly delivers!

I have had the pleasure of representation by Mark Michelson in divorce and child custody hearings for the past seven years and I can't say enough good things about him and his staff. I initially came to Mark completely broken and scared. I knew a divorce was in my future and I was terribly sad and feared my children and I would be homeless. Mark eased my fears from the moment he introduced himself and assured me we would be OK. He helped me maneuver uncomfortable situations by roll playing with me - often turning my tears to uncontrollable laughter. Not only did this prepare me, but it put everything in perspective. For this and so much I am grateful. From the first day we met to today, I knew I could reach out to Mark at any time and he would be there for me. Mark has always been available to answer questions (and there were many), give great advice, and represent me on many occasions in court - all with positive outcomes. In fact, I have witnessed several judges compliment him in court. It certainly doesn't hurt your case when the judges like your attorney!

He is not only my attorney but I now consider him a true friend. He really cares about his clients. This is obvious. Not only in regards to his representation but in regards to my well-being and that of my family, Mark takes time to check in with me, send congratulations on personal accomplishments and provide condolences when some very sad things happened in my family. Do yourself a favor. If you need representation for a divorce or for child custody issues, hire Mark Michelson. I am so glad I did!

I was scared going into the unknown of divorce process that I would lose everything and it would cost a fortune. Mark Michelsen is not only a great guy but an experienced deal maker that is extremely well connected and well thought of. He created a prudent strategy for my situation and then played it like an ace. He was realistic, did not "run the meter" and actually cared. RG

One of the lawyers at this firm, Robert Henly, represented my wife and consistently made mistakes in legal filings and communications. The errors continued into court proceedings before the judge. I had to spend hours going over his writings and pointing out errors, which were not corrected. The errors were considerable and included misstating the case name and mailing documents to incorrect addresses. These errors resulted in a significant increase in fees paid. I would not recommend this lawyer.

I don't even have words to express for Mr. Clayton Worthington's service. Clayton represented me at a time where I was STILL suffering from a horrible post divorce (4 years, 3 court appearances, 3 attorneys, $12k, and 3 judges after one committed suicide. Clayton effortlessly took my case (post divorce, and child support/custody) on with the confidence of a resolution. He's extremely: competent, knowledgeable, informative, respectful and etc. If only I would've found him in the beginning. TRUST me you will not be disappointed in his representation. 3957 Westerre Pkwy #400, Richmond, VA 23233

Clayton Worthington was recommended to me by a lawyer colleague of his. It is now a recommendation I give to whomever reads this review. I will also recommend him verbally to anyone I run across who needs him. Clayton has a classy, commanding presence before a judge. Not only does he "know his stuff," Clayton is thorough and scrupulous. He is not the shyster attorney so prevalently joked about in lawyer jokes. He wins the argument honorably, and I respect that about him. If you want an attorney that is thorough in his work, quick on his feet, and honorable, Clayton Worthington is that attorney. It is a privilege to be his client.

This is my first experience using a law firm and it will be my last ever using this one. Your bank account will be cleaned out and I would never recommend this law firm to anyone. I cannot possibly imagine why they are getting these awards.. I would give them a 0 if I had three lawyers and can’t really say anything positive about any one of them. I’ll probably write more later. I felt so traumatized by the end of my experience with them I’m not sure I will ever be able to trust a lawyer again!!! Agree with poor woman about left one star before me

I'd advise you to steer clear. My experience with Mark Michelsen was abysmal. I paid him an exorbitant sum of money to collect back child support and he failed to do so. I voiced concern many times over the course of the proceedings regarding the mounting bill, and he coerced me several times to continue with the process even though it was clear it wasn't going to work. He definitely cared about collecting his exorbitant fees more than he did my plight. This single Mom with 2 children was also told the firm would work with me on the bill once I'd paid a tremendous amount...and they did so by sending the small leftover balance to collections. Do your research!
