I initially contacted James for my daughter to see if he could challenge some of the sections in her separation agreement, which was filed in Virginia, so she needed a lawyer up there as she'd moved back to Texas.
It was difficult to rely on someone via phone, and only two of the five attorneys I called returned my messages.
I was impressed that James returned my call on a Saturday after I'd spoken with his assistant Friday afternoon. My daughter emailed her papers and set an appointment for a few days later.
James said there might some possibilities for argument, but the cost would likely outweigh the return. He was careful to explain everything in layman's language instead of legalese, was patient, kind and took as much time as necessary to ensure that both of us understood everything about the process.
I appreciated there was never any pressure or implications that he could get more than the agreement stipulated or recommendation we should take it into a courtroom, although I believe he could have done that and enriched himself at our expense.
