I want to thank Atty Yates for all he has done for my sons case. This was a local case that made world news for that terrorist threat charge, alcohol and a fire arm charge. Reading the reviews are helpful, reading Mr. Yates responses just made it very clear his viewpoint on his job. "pleading guilty is the clients decision, not the lawyer" haha typical lawyer comment, well yes it is.. but that is after a lawyer is supposed to guide them. I posted a Yelp review as well that is far more detailed. He made me completely lose faith in all lawyers and I very strongly believe that he made the outcome of my case significantly worse.

I had a tremendous experience with Mr. Yates. Without going too much into detail, I had 2 charges and dismissed later after being on good behavior for a year. Prices were reasonable. Not to mention, I live in California. I only had to come to court twice, for a short amount of time each time. He genuinely tries to get the best possible outcome for you . He is very straightforward but does a great job. He’s very well known in the legal system which made it even better! I highly recommend Mr. Yates if you’re in any type of trouble if you want the best possible outcome !

DO NOT HIRE!! My name is Zauriah Findley (made this email ad a kid) hired him for an arson charge that was just a candle , violated because I got a dui. I had paid him 3,120 dollars after my public defender has did all the work, he didn’t even look at the paperwork until the morning of my preliminary and could’ve called a witness who would’ve had it thrown out!!! Because I got a dui and violated I paid him another 750 to appeal for a bond!!! At my bond hearing, knowing my medical history with ptsd, he says, “she had a bad day, you know how dui’s are” so of course I got denied bond. He didn’t talk to my family at all after that, discussed my case with an ex boyfriend WITHOUT my permission and wanted another 5 grand to continue to represent me!! Of course I fired him and hired Brian Latuga and he got me out of jail with no issue. George Yates is all about money and does the absolute minimum! DO NOT HIRE!!!!

We had the pleasure of watching George Yates in many criminal cases whereas he was hired by my brother. He walked in the courtroom with confidence and with presence each time. My case could have ruined my career, but Mr. Yates was able to get it dismissed. He was willing to answer any questions I had and anytime I called his office I would get a response from him within 24 hours.

I was almost charged with petty larceny which would have undoubtedly ruined my life. I originally opted for a public defender and was found guilty and sentenced to a weekend in jail plus court fines. I was extremely lucky to find Mr. Yates. Not only did he get me out of doing time but he also got me a deferred finding which is almost impossible nowadays. I did some community service and when I go back the charge will be dismissed. Oh, and another thing NO FINES period!

Mr.Yates is very responsive and involved with his clients. He will make sure you are completely at ease and satisfied with your service. At the end of everything my service fee didn't even seem like enough for what he had done for me. Great guy and an excellent attorney. Not going to go deep into the background of a friend Mr. Yates has defended. It is sufficient to say my friend was indeed not guilty of the charges filed, but was left looking guilty as hell. Mr. Yates proved his innocence and all charges were dismissed. I was impressed with his professionalism and his intelligence of the Virginia Code. If I am ever in a position to need a lawyer I can trust, I will be calling Mr. Yates.
