My name is Jorge Oliveros X- 4734796. I'm writing this review because I think it's very important that what happened to me doesn't happen to anyone else. Justin T Mixon CSBN 233198 is a attorney here in Sacramento CA. At the same time he is a panel attorney. When the public defender has a conflict of interest and can't represent you, the court will use a panel attorney. But, the DA works hand in hand with them. I paid Mr. Mixon $8,000 to defend me, but instead he sold me to the DA. He went out of his way to make sure the judge would find enough probable cause to hold me to answer on all three of my cases. He called my private investigator that I was paying for, and told him, "Don't show up to court, we no longer need you. They already got Jorge and there is nothing we can do." He subpoenaed all my witnesses to the wrong department so that I had no one to testify for me. He would not introduce evidence that would have set me free. I couldn't talk to the judge because the judge would not let me. I have been locked up for 8 months now. I went to Mixons office looking for Masuda and I found Mixon. I heard Masuda had lost his license for trading cases with the DA. Mixon did the same thing with me. It's important that all of you know this, when you are defending your freedom it is important to not trust these attorneys. All they do is take your money, but some like Mixon will sell you to the DA. At the preliminary hearing it's a probable cause hearing. You must make sure that if there is anything that shows that you are not guilty, it must be said at the prelim. If it's not recorded on the transcript, you will not be able to use it on 995 motions. You have to speak for yourself some times. if anybody needs proof of what i'm saying about Mixon, I have my transcripts and notarized declarations from my witnesses. If you have the money and you want to have an attorney that will fight for you, hire someone with no ties to Sacramento. Someone from a different country, that's your best bet.

One last thing, if anybody else has gone through the same thing or something similar with Mixon, please let me know about it. I would like to get that information because I am looking for more evidence against Mixon. If you encountered an officer that was abusive in any way like illegal searches, excessive force, any police misconduct. You must complain about that officer. You only have six months to do so, you must do it in their department so other people can use that information.

This review is mainly for Justin but it does include the overall experience as well. Very unprofessional coming from a lawyer and law firm. Was expecting to receive good service at a time when I needed it the most but I was better off having a public defender. They treat you as if your nothing without them and for such a small firm that attitude is a very bad practice. Basically, I called three times over a course of 1 month to make a payment and was told that he would get back to me. Being a business owner and not wanting to bug them I was thinking the last time I spoke to Justin he said: " call me after your next court date (NOV. 7. 2017 ) with a payment and your new court date and I will take care of you." So I called after the continuance with my new court date and the receptionist told me all three times that he would get back to me after taking down my next court date and making me explain my case all three times. Feeling like we're still doing business. Finally, my court date is a week away and still no word so I emailed Donald who emailed me back very promptly that Justin was no longer taking my case because I flaked on him and to "seek other counsel as soon as you can". Thanks for the heads up Justin, BE A MAN!!! if you don't like someone or do not want to do business tell them straightforward instead of having someone else deal with it (Donald). Yes, by the first court date I hadn't paid you yet. But, you never showed up anyways and we spoke after that on the phone for 15 mins and you said everything was fine and to call in with the full payment and a new court date which I did multiple times. Never did you tell me you were NOT going to represent me anymore. Really would have appreciated the three extra weeks for my new attorney to study my case. Instead, I have been frantically calling around and trying to find a last minute attorney. Now that I have a new lawyer, what a night and day difference. They Actually call you back and take payments like a normal law firm!!! Feel like I am being taken care of and it was less expensive.
