They do only the bare minimum as expected from any public defender. Whether it’s in the best interest of you or not that is to be determined by you yourself. They certainly don’t go the extra mile that some might need them to. If anyone could afford your own attorney there would be no public defenders office

The one I had was worthless and might as well have been working for the prosecutor. Do what you can to hire a private attorney cause these people don't even return phone calls.
