Outstanding law firm! My son was extradited back to FL from NY for a VOP so all the communication was through email. On initial phone conversation, Leslie did not over promise. As she found the information from the 16-year old case, all was communicated on a very timely basis.

I felt the price was very far for what effort they put into the case. They had a very convenient way for me to pay them the fees they encountered as they got access to what they needed. (No, their fee does not cover all the additional county costs to relinquish files but they were clearly explained. They even reimbursed an amount that was found to be not needed). Never did I feel I was ignored or forgotten. Leslie shared responsibilities with her husband, Jason, although it was she who solely coordinated the process.

Most of my communication went through Danielle W. She is very good paralegal. Very professional, organized and personable. She usually communicated back to me with an hour. She answered any question I had and was a pleasure to work with.

Read your contract. Keep tabs on them by demanding invoices constantly. Questionable billing. Also do all communications to the office via email. Had more times than not “email got stuck in server and never got” and “are you sure you called right number, maybe phone issues”. Confirm meetings as likely someone doesn’t know, running late or will miss and ruin whatever you had to do to make meeting. Possibly due to criminal cases they feel they can treat people like animals versus consumers. But if you chose them, don’t say we didn’t warn you. Amateur hour prelaw and it’s your freedom at stake.

When it came time to have the hearing Mr. Menendez met with me, and listened to what I had to say about the incident. He explained the law to me and what our strategy was for the hearing. When we got to the hearing, it was clear he was prepared. He had cases to argue in my defense, and he knew who to talk to and look for to get the information needed. My case was quickly called and dismissed before I could even get up to the podium. I would definitely recommend hiring Mr. Menendez.

If I ever get into any legal trouble again I know my first call will be to Mrs. Sammis. She won my case even after the State Prosecutor threw a couple curve balls. This was second time Leslie managed to obtain my freedom in under a year.
I was on my fourth violation of probation on three felonies, and in front of the harshest judge in all of Hillsborough County after violating house arrest.
Miraculously, she managed to get 10 years of probation terminated while i was sitting in jail looking at a minimum of 5 years prison - if I was lucky.

I don’t usually write reviews, but wanted to express my gratitude to Leslie Sammis for what she recently did for my son in regards to the handling of his DUI case. To say this was an unusual and complex case would be putting it lightly. He was cited for 2nd DUI while on a violation of probation from the 1st DUI from several years ago. When we came to Leslie he had already plead guilty to the 2nd DUI even though he was below the legal limit (yes, it’s a long story). She took the case as she believed in my son, realizing he made a very bad mistake that could affect his life. You could tell she took personal interest in his well-being ...and also admonished him to start making better decisions (which I appreciated as a Mom) !! She is kind and caring, but also tough. She listened to us, answered our questions, kept us informed, dug, probed and made sure she had the complete and full picture of the situation at hand so she could give him the best representation possible. Leslie and her team know the law and the nuances of prosecutors/judge that were involved (very important). She cited cases & circumstances that occurred that would back up the reversal of his guilty plea and she was ready to fight this to trial to get the plea reversed and charges reduced. Due to her preparedness, tenacity and passion, she was able to get the prosecutor to lower the charges to “reckless driving” even though they had refused to do so in the past. Let me start out by saying that hiring this law firm was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made in my life. I hired this law firm because of their great reviews online so now I want to share my experience so fellow google users don't fall into the same trap that I did. In short, I would have been better off pleading guilty from the get go than spending the very high rate that the Sammis law firm charges for their services. To make matters even worse this firm also sent all of my personally identifiable information to the wrong person not once, not twice, but 4-5 times. So along with my awful end to the case and the huge pile of bills most of which coming from this firm, I now also have to worry about someone stealing my identity. As a business and business owners, they should be embarrassed by how their office is operating. If you're looking for a criminal attorney in tampa, there are way better and cheaper firms in the area who will actually do there do diligence and not make repeated mistakes.

I hired Leslie for my DUI case. I must say she is one of the best criminal lawyer in town. This was my second DUI offense and had multiple states involved. She analyzed my case with all commitment and really worked hard towards it. She got it down to a reckless driving with no probation and no points on my license.
