Hired Sonya to handle a paternity case, after paying $3,000 she attended 1 mediation, the courts sent her letters regarding my case and she never responded. The case was dismissed, she did nothing! Now, when I call her, she pretends to be an "assistant" to Sonya Davis, but it is her. Fake, fraud, thief, call her what you want. Just DO NOT hire her, DO NOT give her any money. There are so many more attorney's that will handle your case.

These people are not lying she will take your money and not doing anything. She just got in trouble for lying under oath and forging her clients signature and stealing his money basically not doing anything for his case. Better think again if you want to hire her. She believes she is above law. Her lies are catching up to her. Honestly every person on hear should get together and file a complaint with the Florida bar about her stealing their money. I have been dealing with Sonya for 3.5 years(on multiple cases)! She is absolutely amazing and a beast in the court room! I wouldn't want anyone else in my corner. Reading some of these reviews was disappointing. A court case doesn't happen overnight! Especially in Polk county! She ALWAYS calls me back within 24 hours! Her pricing is upfront and she is extremely honest with you!

Hired her on behalf of my Son-in-lawn and daughter for child custody. Went with her because she was referred to us by a friend. Gave her a 3000.00 thousand dollar deposit up front. Long story short: WHAT A MISTAKE. NOTHING DONE IN A ONE AND ONE HALF YEARS. We've had to go out and hire a new attorney and they can't even get a call back from her. Our story is just to long to print here, so let's just say terribly dissatisfied with her non- service. Contemplating a complaint to the state.

Run away.
Filed a grievance against her with the bar.
She will take your money and do nothing.
She is heartless.
Ego driven.
I had lost my teenage son two yrs prior to hiring her, which she was well aware of.
She spoke of Gov Scott's calls to her, and gossiped about folks that I knew of during my 2nd visit with her.
Gave me a price of $2000.00 dollars to cover the cost of my case.
I wrote her a check, which she cashed at my bank the very next day two days prior to Christmas.
Never did anything.

I called her numerous times trying to contact her, without any response.
I realized that I needed to create a trail with her.
I did that and filed a grievance against her with the bar.
NOTHING HAPPENED!!
She did evidently move from her Winter Haven office.
Good Riddance Sonja.
Do not trust her with your case or money.
I lost $2000.00 for trusting her to handle my case.

Sonya is amazing! She's a real bull dog in the court room and knows the law. She represented me for almost 2 years through a divorce. She tells it like it is and does not sugar coat anything. She took the time to hear me out and was always available when I needed her. She prepared me for trial and never promised anything except she would do everything she could for me. And she DID! If your looking for a attorney to tell you everything is rainbows and unicorns. Shes not your girl. If your looking to WIN, retain her! Not only did I get EVERYTHING I wanted...I got more! I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a very reasonably priced attorney who shines in the court room!

I did not hire this attorney but my ex-husband did.
She never follows up on anything in a timely fashion.(3 year long divorce) Stall game, 100 %. She does not respond! Opposing council has to beg her to communicate. Despite a judge giving her orders to do so. (writing up our final orders) Trial on the 5th, orders due by the 15th and here it is the 27th with no orders. It is pure disrespect for an attorney to completely disregard a judges orders. It not only wastes time, costs both clients more money, and prolongs moving on with life even more.
Asleep at the wheel is an understatement. In my opinion, She just does NOT care.
In my opinion, anyone who hires her is doing a disservice to themselves.

I am the kind of person that I never like to hurt another person and this is not the real purpose of my review but to aware others of the bad service they will receive from this lawyer if she can be called a lawyer. Your money and your time will be completely wasted. She asked me to pay her in advance in 2015 and still in 2017 she didn't move a finger on my case. When I investigated a paralegal could complete her work for only $320. I had to make a claim with the Florida Bar because it was a decent sum of money that I paid her. If she could at least be honest and give my money back but never resolved a thing and the money was never returned to me. I got tired of email her, call her, I even went to her office. No luck at all! She got my money and forgot about her honesty principles due to her clients.

Would not recommend her service.. over charged and under delivered.. if I could give a minus 10.... I would.. took a simple case that was 80% done and changed $3,000 plus court fees and messed up the paper work at least three times.. and when I asked for a itemized summary never heard from her office again even after going to her office she stayed in the back and had her receptionist tell me she wasn't in.. I only went with her because of a referral.. all she seen was a easy and quick dollar.. if this helps one person make a hard decision I can only say " don't "..
