My experience with Mr. Rooney was horrible. He did not fight for my rights and did not reveal his personal relationship to the opposing lawyer until I ran across information that his senior partner defended opposing counsel before the Florida Bar where he had been accused of stealing from trust accounts maintained for his clients. His name was Joiner and he was suspended for 2 years and unable to practice law during that time.
Does anyone realize how hard it is to get an attorney sanctioned this way, and that it is near impossible to get them disbarred because they police themselves, unlike other professional groups, and it's very difficult to get any sanctions no matter how bad their behavior is. Obviously, the behavior was so bad he lost the case and I wish to god I had never hired Rooney. Two birds of a feather.
