Glorified public defender (no, she really is a public defender). If you truly care about your loved ones, please find an attorney that is more competent than Mrs. Powell. I'm not sure how she graduated law school with her limited mental capacity. After having my brothers case for over a month, I scheduled a meeting with her and she couldn't tell me anything about his case. She couldn't tell me what his charges were, how much time he was looking at, therefore she had no strategy to present to me. To say that I was appalled would be an understatement. Before leaving her meeting, she did, however, tell me she wanted to assign me some homework. She instructed me to go home and research whether or not his charges could be run concurrent. I paused for a minute, anticipating a slight chuckle because surely she had just told a joke. When the chuckle didn't come, there were two things I was sure of; she wasn't joking, and that statement was a clear indication that she didn't possess the competence to represent my brother. Needless to say, she dropped us as a client because she decided to represent someone else which happened to be a conflict of interest. So PLEASE learn from my mistake and KEEP SEARCHING.
