My divorce was concluded in September 2018 in Hernando County Family Court. My first Divorce Attorney was corrupt and with others help he was disbarred in Florida, then I turned to the Ayo and Iken firm in their New Port Richey Offices.........I paid them a $2000 amount to retain services for one of their female associates, which didn't get me anything or anywhere further in my case. She was a nice lady , but out for the $$$ grab just like most in the profession.....When they asked for more money,but failed to move ahead in my case or get me anywhere with my ex-wife's 2nd attorney(who quite frankly was over her head and could have been settled with easily ) I objected all the way to the owner ,Howard. He sounded like he wanted to help and put me in touch with his managing partner,Bruce in the NPR office. Bruce wanted me to pay another $1500 just to get to mediation and speak with him! Upon feeling I was NOW getting a "shell game" played so I would go away, i decided to look for a new attorney,that was ethical and could help.... The firm of Ayo and Iken will take your money and ask for more, I lost $2000 to them for paper shuffling,things I did myself Pro SE, but was made to feel that i should have known this and appreciate them! They are NO different and I was inclined to "take this as a learning experience" but I operate a small business with the utmost ethics and thought to myself after hearing ALL the advertising they do that make them seem like GREAT ATTORNEYS that are ethical, i couldn't listen to another "fake" Ad that basically portrays them as anything but what my experience indicated they were,MONEY HUNGRY DIVORCE ATTORNEYS who basically took my $2000 and didn't once offer any return, just asking for more money to do what they were originally supposed to do.....They will write their "canned lawyerspeak" response to this FACTUAL REVIEW, but Mr Iken and I both know how my case with their firm went down....I'm writing so someone else doesn't get taken for the money without the representation like I did! Good Luck and i would keep looking at a smaller firm,who can do just as well for you if NOT better!

At the conclusion of my brief “free consultation” I was forced to pay $325!

To add salt to my wound, when I attempted to apply the “advice” supplied by their associate Jason Coupal, I was informed by the Pasco County Sheriff the advice/information given to me was NOT accurate.

To avoid this posting and suing them, I filed a fee arbitration dispute. However, the firm refused to participate indicating the fee was earned.

Now I have to sue them for my refund! Choose a another firm as there are many great firms out there, I just so happen to stumble upon a bad one.

When I started looking around for an attorney to represent me in my divorce, I looked at more than a handful of attorneys. Some had consult fees, some didn't, I looked in Tampa, Lutz and New Port Richey. After I called Ayo & Iken I knew I found the attorney to represent me. I was very pleased with the way that Ayo & Iken handled my divorce and custody case. I was represented by Mr. Przepis, he was patient with my process, he researched military info, he explained the lawyer jargon to me and kept me updated with the case status-from paperwork to court dates and everything in between. The Para-legal Mrs Goldman, was also very informative, helpful and also kept in contact with me. They are a great team and I couldn't have moved forward without all of their assistance.

We went in for a “ consultation”. My husband and myself met with Howard. What a wonderful gentleman. He was knowledgeable and respectful. He did say to begin with let me explain what happens here today. We discuss the important details and we then together discuss what you would like to be the outcome. If our expectations don’t match for whatever the reason that’s ok. “ I want to provide you with realistic expectations and make sure we are on the same page. “He didn’t seem to give false hope or feeds us BS. I went into the meeting today expecting to be buttered up. When we walked away both he and us had a full clear understanding of the route we will be taking. He was so nice and listened intently. He asked what seemed to be appropriate questions that were relevant to the case. Thank you very much for being up front and honest and giving us a clear view of the road ahead.

Please read contract. They charge a 695 flat fee for office supplies. So if you give them 5000 in reality you get 4305 of legal service. They must have cash flow issues. They pound you for more money immediately and not by one person but with three people blowing up your phone. They threaten to withdrawal from your case immediately if your payment is not rendered.. upon demand. Also my phone records and their billing do not match. Please log your calls with them and verify the hours on the phone coordinate with their billing.

Dont have any emergencies happen right before you into their offices or they will make you pay for your free cinsultation

I had a free consultation with Attorney Iken a few weeks ago. He was very informative and straightforward. I had considered doing a phone consultation because of my work schedule, but I am glad we met in person. We spoke about several options which gave me food for thought. The fee, although reasonable, was not an amount I could pay right away. It is a process I can submit myself, and perhaps I may consult with him to look over the paperwork for me and point me in the right direction. I wouldn't recommend this firm to anyone. In my view they took advantage of my girlfriend in her divorce, charged more than promised, never achieved what was initially promised.
Attorney Iken started her first with an in-experienced attorney for a period of time, then switched her to Bruce Przepis. I found him very condescending . (I say that because I read a disturbing certified letter he sent to her in reply to her not understanding a court hearing.) His presentation in court which I was only able to read I believe left much on the table, in my mind, it reflected very little preparation or concern. Hearings were canceled without her knowledge, e-mails continually sent to wrong address no matter how many times she pleaded with him and office staff to correct. Absolutely no communication from this firm in writing or by phone, Also billing not sent without request which I personally find a very underhanded practice.
My girlfriend is a very emotional hard working loving caring mother going thru a very difficult time emotionally and financially, her English is broken, doesn't always understand what she's reading in most legal documents and many times she has trouble understanding what was said in meetings but is to proud to admit it, their actions in my mind took advantage of that and treated her with very little respect, overcharged her and in my mind did not serve in the best interest of her or her children.

Unfortunately this young lady and myself ended our relationship near the end of May, and no I do not speak for her. But I was truly offended and troubled by what I saw and read and felt compelled to make others aware of some of the actions by your firm that I witnessed.

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Howard Iken during my divorce process and it was a pleasure working with Howard and his team. Anyone going through a divorce knows it's a stressful time in your life and it's a relief to know that Howard is very knowledgeable about Divorce Law in the State of Florida.Howard will not give you a since of false security, he is very honest and truthful. I believe this is why he is successful. During my divorce on numerous occasions problems arouse after hours and weekend's and he would always respond quickly. This is a great attribute not found in most lawyer's, he truly is a good person.....

Where do I start. When I first called last year and explained my situation from Chicago, I thought this was the right firm. Allison told me it would be $3000 for my case after i explained it all. She said she would start for $2000. Fine, i called and gave $2000. She told me I needed to move back to Florida. Not knowing any better, i listened. Come to find out AFTER I paid her she told me I could've just hired a lawyer in Illinois and transferred the case! I called and told her the date i was leaving(already secured a home) and told her to go ahead and get a court date so we didn't have to wait so long. She did nothing. June 22nd I get to Florida and still NO court date. October and finally a hearing date. She sat there and was VERY mousy. My ex, who doesn't have an attorney got everything HE wanted while she sat there. THEN she tells me that the $3000 was for just THAT appearance! If I wanted her to continue or address the rest of the stuff i told her its going to be MORE. WHAT?! Why not tell me that from the beginning?!
So now its January and my ex has done nothing he was ordered! Does she file a contempt motion?! NO! She says shes not going to do a thing until i pay her another $1500 for that!? Not to mention in the October hearing she filed an ex parte motion which wasn't supposed to do and was thrown out. It would be great if people paid all this money and the lawyer actually HELP the person, not have her paralegal do everything and screw it up. I've called other attorney now and they have confirmed she WASN'T helping my case just makes me more mad that i wasted my money. She mailed a letter to my ex saying she is quitting because i dont have a job and haven't paid her?! No I haven't paid her because she LIED. She said $3000 for my stuff NOT $3000 for ONE appearance! I will be filing a complaint with the Bar asap

The only regret I had about my experience with Attorney Belcher and her staff was that they were my second choice. I was referred by a colleague to another attorney to handle the divorce of my 10 year marriage. BIG mistake.... After 7 months of working with my prior attorney, 5 trips to court the parties were still unable to reach an agreement on any of the issues. I am very upset with the unprofessional way that my entire case has been handled with Ms Allison Belcher. I will tell everyone not to use this office, Ms Belcher- inparticular and her words, maybe the office can't be trusted!!!!! The day of my free consult for my divorce I was indeed quite taken by her experience and knowledge. She made it seem imperative that I file my case immediately to assure that it would be handled in Pasco County. I paid that day $775 due to the fact that I did not have the $2500 if I wanted to hire her to handle the case. Well I waited every day for the first week and second week and heard nothing. Over the course of May, June, and most of July I was the only person making phone calls, I was trying to get the status of my divorce papers. That's it they were just drawing up the papers and it took over 2 months. After finally going in person almost the July I went to the office and demanded my money back. It was right after lunch and the only person that was there was the Secretary, my son and I followed her into the office because my son and I as she unlocked the front door. After letting her get jsettled she asked " how she could help?" After I explained that I was rather upset and that was putting it nicely that after all this time I just wanted my money back. Waiting over two months just for divorce papere to be drawn up ridiculous. Apparently Ms Belcher- was at another office and again I was told that I would get a call back. Well, believe it or not I actually did get a call back that time. Only the person to answer my phone was my oldest son, 22 years old and leaving for the army, and Ms Belcher- explains "that her office really dropped the ball.. they made the mistake.. it should have never taken this long BUT to make it right she will stay with me thru the divorce till the final hearing." When my son could get a word in he explains, "that I am driving but if she could give me about 30 minutes I would call back." When I called Ms Belcher- explains the exact same thing to me. But I am told, "She thought the papers were done and picked up." But in the same breathe she is asking me all kinds of questions, "How old is my son? How much money do I make and how often am I paid? Did I want Alimony? Was there any assets? Did I want anything particular? Etc. Etc. " If my papers were ready why all the questions... Also, this was a Friday but I couldn't pick up till Tuesday afternoon. Needless to say Tuesday afternoon my papers were not together in a packet waiting for me, no they were still being printed and reprinted. I even took a witness with me. As I was signing.my name to be notorized, I asked her if I should list her as my attorney, and her response was, "No, technically at this time you don't. " So, I took it we were waiting to see if my husband signed the divorce papers or what.. After finally filling my papers my husband did indeed hire an attorney to fight the alimony. I have since called the office 4 times and even emailed the Ms Belcher- herself and I have yet to get a return call or email. From the apparent get go this whole situation has been one fumble after another. Now in fear of losing everything in my divorce because Ms Belcher- is not standing up to her own words. She readily admitted how her office "dropped the ball." But her answers also contradicts each other... She, " thought I had picked up the papers," but yet she asked several questions and the papers were not ready when I arrived just 1 1\2 business days later. Someone who promises you to stay by your side and be with you to the final hearing not just once but twice and then ditch you the minute she realizes it's not going to be an easy case is not a lawyer anyone should trust. I put all my trust in her. I even asked in the email to meet so if she wasn't going to stand by her word I would know what I had to come up with and what my next step are. Just got done getting a consult. It was refreshing hearing someone that told me the truth for a change. I was told to wait and not file yet. Another lawyer seemed to be in a rush to get started. They are not cheap but at least you get the truth. I plan to go back when the time is right.
