In 2015 and 2016, I hired Kate for custody and child support orders. I was a single mom; my daughter was not quite 2 and I was 5 months pregnant. From the first meeting, Kate did such a great job at allaying my fears. She worked with me to make everything affordable, and she had my best interests in mind as well as those of my children. She made the whole process as easy as possible and was always very responsive. And that includes her staff as well; any time I reached out, they were warm and professional and nothing but helpful. I got everything I wanted and even more so, everything I deserved. And this was even with briefly reconciling with my ex after the birth of our son which was after I initially retained her in 2015. When I went back to her, I was concerned that my credibility would be questioned, but she was very understanding and my brief lapse in judgement didn't hinder any progress we had made after all. I had a very complex custody modification and post divorce asset issue and the Soulsby law firm was always there to help me and was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions. At the end of the day I ended up with primary custody of the children, and being a father, that’s not easy here in Texas. I also received 50% of the post divorce assets. Thus far, I dont recommend this attorney because it is not veteran friendly. Ive called repeatedly to be contacted, and have yet to hear anything. This attorney has abused the justice system for a transfer of venue. The law states, 20 days. She lied in court and said it was timely. I know this because. am a certified paralegal, and somewhat know the law. During role call of the docket, the jidge allows time for the attorneys to confer. However Kate didnt approach me, as time allowed. We just went straight to court on the motion to transfer venue. She is also putting all cost on me, a disabled Texas Veteran. I know she doesnt represent me, but I feel she should have done her homework on who the other side is.

I write this with all honesty and high regard to the Soulsby Law Firm. This is the first time I had been involved in any family custody case or been exposed to any of these proceedings. I interviewed three attorneys prior to meeting Ms. Soulsby. As a father of a young child I was worried I would have minimal access to my daughter, after her mother kept her from me for over two months. Other attorneys dismissed me outright.
