This obviously can't be a good place to be but they try to make the experience a good one

I went to the public defender’s office with a gentleman I recently brought into my home to get him out of the toxic living situation he was previously in. It’s this reason he had been charged in the first place.

We spoke with Juanita, the secretary and she was very informative, thorough, kind and compassionate. Thank you Jeana and Juanita!

No one ever answers the phone. Everything goes to voicemail.

Mellissa Brink was great with my 4th offence dui she got me into sobriety court. My life has completely changed. I do not drink any more and I live the life God intended me to live. Thank you judge Childress, Melissa Brink and sobriety court for giving me my life back.

People are obviously diligent and hardworking. Despite being swamped, the support staff was always kind and courteous and seemed to be very knowledgeable about the inner workings of the courthouse and it's attendant programs like diversion and specialty courts.

The attorneys, like their support staff, seem especially swamped too. But when something strange went down in my case- my attorney turned into three, then five, ending in six - their senior trial guy who only does death penalty and life sentences without parole- showed up for my little misdemeanor case. Right when we were going to go to trial, they got the state to dismiss the whole thing.

There were some touch and go moments for a while that day, but it was apparent I had the backing of, I guess, a century's worth of legal experience. I feel blessed to have had these people in my life during such a rough time. They made sure I knew that if I was going to go down all of them had to also and since they didn't want to I wasnt going to either!

Thank God for you good people who fight for the poor huddled masses who cannot afford an expensive lawyer!

Pre trial in two days and yet have received any calls. We made the application on June 6th. We have been calling the past three days in a row and all we have gotten is "I just got back to the office. I haven't even gotten to go through any paperwork that's on my desk. Your application might be in there. Call back next week" with just straight attitude (this call was made on a Friday so we called back Monday and Tuesday with no answer). The other two times that we called we have had no answer and left a message. This is rediculous that we have waited more than 20 days and when we called the first time they haven't even found his application.

Horrible .... That's all I can say for them. They did not want to help us and whenever we would call all we would get is attitude... And broken trust. Sucks that this parish is by far the worst parish in the state. Will never live here again and once were finished with all charges this parish will never see us in it again. Promise that!
