Talk about Silicon and the tech industry hiring few women, this law firm has ten male lawyers and yet only one woman lawyer according to its website. It is not because it has only been in business only a short time. It has been in business as Jimerson, Cobb for most of this past decade. It is not because there are too few female lawyers. Law schools have been graduating as many female lawyers as male lawyers for a number of years. The Florida Times Union (Jacksonville newspaper) has written editorials as far back as the 1980's and again in the past several years criticizing law firms in Jacksonville for failing to hire female lawyers and promote them equally with males as partners. There are competent female litigation lawyers in Jacksonville who have experience in the areas of practice of this law firm. So, if you are a woman looking to hire a lawyer for yourself or your business, you might consider checking out the law firms which hire women and promote women equally with male lawyers. You can just look at their photo page to see if the males in the law firm only hire people who look like themselves. . .

If you are in need of a law firm that always gives its best and doesn't just mail it in (i.e. relentless effort), then Jimerson Birr is your answer, particularly in any complex construction, business, or eminent domain dispute. I have an interesting perspective in my opinion of the firm, as I was formerly a partner of this firm. Because I am intimately aware of the capabilities and dedication of the lawyers of the firm, I do not hesitate to engage the firm for my company's needs where I now serve as General Counsel. Trust means a lot when you turn a representation over to a firm, and I unquestionably trust the lawyers that I formerly called my partners and associates. Ultimately, I trust them enough to stake my own reputation and credibility on the firm by hiring them for a matter when I answer to my superiors on every engagement.

Would not recommend. I called needing a consult only and all that was rattled off me were retainers and hourly fees. I said wait a moment. All I needed was a consult to determine if it was worth pursuing. I was told someone would call me back, but that hasn't happened. Obvious this firm is more interested in the money rather than helping the client.

Jimerson & Cobb has performed litigation work for our company for the past five years. They have tackled some of the most challenging cases, ranging from bank and insurance fraud, to involuntary bankruptcy. Many of the cases required intense research, several required unfriendly and lengthy negotiations and mediation.
