I really trusted Erik Berger for some reason. I guess it's all the big talk...but then when the big day comes, the day of my hearing, I had talked directly to Erik zero times and he delivered nothing. I have a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder along with Agoraphobia. I hallucinate and hear voices from time to time, although I am medicated now, you see how this would cause a serious problem for me to obtain and sustain gainful employment. Along with physical issues as well concerning my spine(involving a surgery) NONE of this was on the unfavorable decision mailed to me. I filed in 2016...my hearing was Dec 2018...I think that was adequate time to get prepared. I was just told my doctors wouldn't comply or fill out their paperwork. This was an outright lie, at least with my pain management Doctor, as she told me personally she would do whatever she needed to help the process along. They just didn't see dollar signs quick enough, in my opinion...and dropped it. I do NOT feel like they did their job to the best of their abilities and do not recommend their services. They wasted almost 2 years of my life for absolutely nothing. This is not good business and maybe I should've just called Farrah and Farrah lol

to say that I am completely thankful for the service that I received is an understatement. My LTD situation was a tricky one. I was approved benefits but months later they were taken away. My SSA lawyer (at the time) advised me not to appeal since there was surveillance of me out and about. He advised that I should let the case drop and focus on SSA. Shortly after, he withdrew from my case and stated that I did not have a chance.

Well, he was wrong! I found a new SSA lawyer who connected me with Mr. Erik Berger. I spoke with Mr. Berger briefly over the phone and advised him that I only had a week left in order to appeal and if he did not take my case I would completely understand. He did the opposite. He asked me to come in and meet with him. He was 100% upfront with me and told me that it will be difficult but he was up for the fight as long as I was. 5 months later, I received news that my benefits were being reinstated effective immediately.

I cannot say thank you enough for believing in my case even after I had little faith in it. It has been a great pleasure working with Mr. Berger and the staff. This office called me because Tracy dialed the wrong number. Left a long message about Release if Information and Disability.
I have no pending legal cases. I called and left a message stating do not proceed as this is possibly fraudulent.
Tracy calls back, and I can barely start to explain when she tells me, “It is your signature, I have compared them.”
What?! I tell her again, “I haven’t signed anything. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.” Tracy proceeds to tell me that it came from “your attorney.” I tell her, “I don’t HAVE an attorney.”
Finally!! Doing what she SHOULD have done to start with, she asked some basic information questions, starting with my first name and the name of the person she was trying to reach sound nothing alike- they both have the letter “m” in them. Realizing HER mistake, no apology, just a flippant attitude of pure RUDENESS like I interrupted her day.
Good luck if you use her in a legal case, her mistakes could cost you dearly.

Everything about this place sucked let me see no one ever called back they wouldn't return messages I never seen Eric Burger except for the day I hired him I did almost all the leg work myself and now he has the nerve to send me a Bill for the stuff I did myself SMH this was a horrible situation and Hope a never see him again

Imagine a judge telling you that you had 10 shots on a basketball ball court & you could stand anywhere you wanted to. He says "if you make one shot I will approve your case". Not only would this lawyer miss every shot, he wouldn't even shoot the ball. After having this lawyer represent me for over a year, I Actually met him once and spoke to him once, all in the same day as the hearing. To say Eric is a bad lawyer would be wrong of me. The worst thing about it is that I believe that Eric did his absolute best. After pulling my files to see what was presented on my behalf, even if I was the judge on my own case I would have denied it. There was a plethora of missing paperwork. Ready for another analogy? Imagine eating a bag of jelly beans in the dark, once in a while you're going to get that black one that isn't very good. His assistant Tracy (out of state) she is phenomenal hands down! I would love to go out & have a beer with this guy... but represent me in a disability case? I'd rather see a monkey with a diamond ring before I do that again. Beside all of that, I still believe he did HIS best.

The law firm isn’t that good. Don’t return phone calls, rude staff and don’t answer valuable questions regarding your claim. I get better information on YouTube then dealing with them. All they did is go to court for 10 minutes and they get 18% of my disability claim for doing nothing. What a scam

They wont answer their phones and will not call you back at all and when they eventually call you they give false information and lie to you and then call YOU a liar and tell you its your fault for misunderstanding dont use this office ever!!! Find someone worth more than a nickle beyond pissed with the service i have not recieved from them and beg you all to find a better attorney

I was represented by another law firm and was denied. This law firm didn't even want to file the appeal. That said I contacted Attorney Burger''s office and made an appointment. He reviewed my case and agreed to take it but we could only go back to the date the first judge denied my case.
That said we had to start over from square one, which due to poor representation the first time ended up costing me over $30k!!!
I refiled my case and in only 10 months got a hearing before another judge. We won the case. His fee was automatically deducted from the amount of back pay I was to receive and there was a cost of paperwork that was extremely minimal beyond that.
The big firm that originally represented me made so many mistakes and what I learned was this:
With a big firm you basically get the " next man up on the totem pole" and that doesn't mean you're going to be represented by a good attorney. It's truly the luck of the draw.
With Erik W Burger you get him and his team! You see Erik, his secrotary, and his paralegal! Nobody else. It is Erik that goes with you to court to fight for you, like he did me.
My only regret was that I didn't hire him from the beginning. I've told everyone about my experience with Attorney Burger and his team and I'm so satisfied I'll continue to recommend them in the future.

I had been denied 2 times for my SSD before I was introduced to Mr . Eric Berger. I was exhausted and I had exhausted all of my savings trying to make ends meet. Once he excepted my case I was approved in less then 2 months ,I felt like he was a gift from God, and I have referred my family and friends to him and they have had success in their cases as well. Took our case then told us he wasn’t going to file appeal paper because we’d likely have jobs before the appeal was completed. We had to file the appeal on our own and had completely forgotten about him. Months later, he notified us that the appeal had been approved. Three months after approval, we still hadn’t been paid by SSI. When I called him to ask what he was doing, he got angry and accused me of being like his other clients and only wanted to refuse to pay him. I tried to explain that I don’t mind paying him, but my expectation is that when I pay someone, they would actually doing something for me. He told me his office had done everything already. When I asked him what they had done, he told me that they had called the SSA office twice and was on hold for a whole 10 minutes.
I’m a federal mediator, and it’s my job to de-escalate conflicts. After talking with him, I was ready to punch a wall. He assumed he knew what I wanted then proceeded to berate me for not wanting to pay him. When I told him that the only thing he’s done is to call the SS office, which we’ve already done several times. He responded angrily by saying there was nothing else to do. What’s the point of hiring a lawyer when all they can do is the same thing I’ve already done?
Eric Berger’s entire practice is to play the lottery. He takes on cases, does nothing, and eventually, some cases payout then he collects.
The following day we called SSA again and spoke with someone who said they would issue a dire need letter. I guess with 10 years of experience, Mr. Berger doesn’t know about this letter.
Also just found out that the SSA is suppose to work through our attorney and can only contact us with his permission. Mr. Berger gave us the contact number of the claims manager and simply told us to work with them, taking him out of the loop completely (except when it comes to collecting his fees).

Update: Just got back from a meeting at the local SSA office. It turns out, Mr. Berger didn't even file the paperwork to represent us until after the appeal was approved. In our conversation, he told me that he was retained in case it was necessary to take or case to a hearing (in the event that the appeal was denied).
