I had a closing today in Jill's office, and I sensed a good deal of prejudice and "ism" during my time in her office. I arrived at the office about 15mins prior to our closing. I was the 1st of 3 different parties there who were apart of our closing. After being there at least 5 mins, the 2nd party arrived, and the secretary finally decided to ask if I wanted anything to drink while I waited -- She only asked b/c the 2nd party had arrived and they had a diff skin-tone than mine. Once Jill came into the lobby to greet everyone (by this time all 3 parties were there). Of course I was greeted last by her, even tho I arrived there 1st and was closer to her in regards to proximity.
Once at the closing table Jill had small talk, jokes and overall a good attitude and demeanor to everyone there but myself of course. She made a point to ignore and over-talk me whenever I did make an attempt to chime in, and wouldn't even give me the decency to look me in my eyes. Almost as if it was a major aggravation to her that I was in her office.
Finally after the closing process was done. She handed every party a manilla folder to put their paperwork and checks in......Of course --- She didn't provide me with one on purpose, so ODDLY ENOUGH; out of 3 diff parties I was the only person without.
I close on about 20 different properties every single year in the Middle Georgia market, and this will without a doubt be the first and last time that Jill S. Thompson gets my business. I'll make sure to not refer her to anyone else who asks as well.
