I was recommended to this attorney by a friend. I was having some serious issues with my ex. I had a consultation with the attorney & his staff. I was shocked on how attentive they were to details that I just thought were irrelevant. They made sure that I didn’t have to deal with my ex in person & took care of all the paperwork & court matters. I would definitely recommend this attorney! Very happy with everything he did for me.

I met with the attorney who promised me my matter would be resolved within 2 court appearances and will resolve the matter with the other party for $2850.
I paid the attorney an after that did not received any updates. I started calling the law office anywhere from 2-13 times daily. No response for weeks.
The day before my trial, Mr. Shaaf called me into the office for an "Emergency meeting" and had me tell him everything that we already discussed at the consultation (billed me for it). He told me he was going to settle the matter at the for MSC, but never did.
He ended up making the matter worse by telling the judge he wants a TRC, and then talked my ex-wife's mother, no even my ex wife, and asked her what she wanted for her daughter. It was totally uncalled for and I lost all trust in the attorney. After leaving the court house, he told me to call him next week if I don't hear anything. He never called me.!!!
I started calling the office again multiple times a day for the course of 30 days.
Two days before the TRC, he told me to come in on a Sunday, my trial was on Monday, for an "Emergency meeting" . Again, went into the office and had to explain everything all over to him again and then he tells me "I CAN'T SHOW BECAUSE I HAVE A CRIMINAL TRIAL IN BANNING, I NEED YOU TO ASK THE JUDGE FOR A CONTINUANCE". ( He charged me for coming into the office)>
I was very upset, I had to ask the judge for a continuance. The deputy in the court room even stated "You need to hire a new attorney, what are you paying him for"?. I called the law office, and explained the new TRC date is a month and a half out. She made note and told me Mr. Schaff will contact me. NEVER HEARD FROM HIM! (Charged me two hours, he did not show).
Took nearly 2 weeks for him o contact me and then he tells me "You and your wife need to work this out" I explained to him again then why did I hire you and why did you take on my case?" The following week, I did not hear from him again. I then told the office Mr. Schaff if terminated from this matter.
He has caused me more stress, insecurity, depression, and anxiety. I've lost so must money because I'm still supporting my ex-wife and she shes still driving my vehicle. I truly felt robbed of my money and can not believe he could do this to someone.
Mr. Schaff even charged me stating he was at court for 2 hours on he day he did not show and I had to ask for a continuance. He claimed he was at court but the court recorder documented he was not. His sectary also charged me $7.50 for every phone call I made. Never was written in the retainer fee contract. He's a criminal, not an attorney. DO NOT HIRE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Upon accepting the legal path my attorney recommended and very confidently expressed as the way to achieve my desired outcome, after several months, the path I reluctantly agreed to go down did not go as he advised. The agreement we had aside from the working contract has now been pushed aside amid payment of a portion of the agreed upon retainer.
Original agreement based upon a handshake was to not have had placed upon record any charges. Which in lieu of desired deposition, the lesser charge was to be taken and thebresultbwouldbbe the same outcome as desired with a charge taken being significantly less serious, however still allowing the end goal to be achieved.
Upon numerous attempts to complete the task at hand without assistance of the attorney, it was realized that it was unable to be compelled on my own.
After several conversations with this attorney it became very clear that he had really no intrest in completing the case as per my expectations. Furthermore the demand for retainer fees has continued, and a direct refusal to complete the work on his end.
Granted the contract did state retainer to be paid ect ect. However if the job to be done is incomplete and a demand is being made for payment of such work, it seems to be more or less about slam dunks and deals with the DA to shove clients in and out of the court room as quickly as possible. For these reasons my new rating is more accurate to the scope of the work completed (or lack there of)

He is very unprofessional.no calls no updates nothing . All the information I gave his is all he know . Hasn’t told me nothing new . Very disappointing when you really need help and you put your trust in them and nothing . It makes me cry every time I think about it . He’s caused stress,hate, and depression to myself . I literally did the most impossible to get the money to get help . And I feel like I just got robbed by a delinquent with only verbals . I hope some one can look into this lawyer and make sure he gets what he deserves:-(

I have never been as discussed with anyone as I am with This Attorney. He is a big talker and promise you the world, then nothing,no calls,no updates. HE TOLD MY SON TO HIS FACE YOU ARE GOING HOME ON THE NEXT COURT DATE IN 3 WEEKS. THE COURT DATE COMES HE IS NOT IN THE COURT ROOM FOR 3 HOURS. FINALLY IS PRESENT AND TRYS TO AVOID ME.When I asked him what was going on he tried to say he never said that. Excuse me? You told My son, me,his step dad, and his grandmother. This guy is a joke, cheater,I don't think he has any business being a so called Attorney. Run from this guy, trust and believe he is a good talker until you pay him then he is MIA. Worthless to say the least. I can't say enough horrible things about this clown.
