DO NOT use this law firm! I purchased a mobile home over a year ago. It had gone through two owners before I bought it. Murray did the closing for the sale. Come to find out, the title was still in the first owners name because Murray never changed the name on the title! The mobile home was also supposed to be “detitled” (which means there is no more physical title, the DMV retires it. Home purchasers often get a better loan rate when the home is “detitled.” Cities and counties also benefit from the convenience of combined tax bills and improved assessment values. The process involves retiring the title issued for the home by the State of South Carolina). Murray didn’t take the proper steps to make that happen. So, laziness or incompetence on their part, or both! My closing attorney contacted Murray Law Firm, but the lawyers, paralegals & assistants in that office kept blowing them off. Because of this huge debacle I was having to pay taxes on both the property and the mobile home. Not to mention I was paying a mortgage on a home that wasn’t even in my name. This whole thing was taking a huge toll on me, mentally and emotionally. Ironically, the first home owner was my aunt and her daughter and son in law are real estate agents in Myrtle Beach. From what I understand, they called and complained about all of this to Murray. So, Murray Law Firm (trying to cover their a**) actually had the nerve to call my aunt and told her not to sign the old title over to me. They tried to make it sound like everything was fine! Little did they know that she knew what was going on the whole time. After a year the other attorneys office finally got this all straight for me. STAY AWAY from this law office and use your local attorneys office because these individuals they use at Murray’s are shady and incompetent.
