I had a really bad experience with my disability case. I got zero help or information from Laura's office up until one month before my hearing I actually got to speak to and have an appointment with Laura which left me unknowledgeable and unprepared for my hearing. Waiting this long left me with no time to prepare myself and my medical records to be ready in time for the hearing. Then on the day of the hearing Laura was runny g late and I was an hour early so we could prepare. The hearing was a disaster because I was an emotional wreck going into it because I was expecting time with Laura to prepare me for the hearing. Afterwards her advice to me was find a job for a couple more years until I am 50 then reapply. If I could work I would do that but I can't stand up for more than 5 minutes and can barely walk across the room. Now I'm left with 2 more years of no income until I can receive disability when I am 50. I am screwed!

Some bulldog. We went to the office after two years of struggling and trying to deal with the SS Administration ourselves. I explained this to the woman with whom we consulted, how I was working a Second Shift job weekdays and was too exhausted and had no time to deal with it. She appeared very slothful and it didn't look as if she'd bathed that day. The can of febreez within reach on her desk brought up even more questions. She told me they needed the medical records from my husband's old doctor in Oklahoma. When I asked wasn't it her job, she said that it'd be easier for her if we got them. Frustrated, angry, and tired; the best thing I could do was to leave her greasy office before I made a scene. If it isn't bad enough to have the government ignore your requests, what the hell do you think it feels like to have a lawyer do the same? I felt like a POS when I walked out. Another brick wall. We're still struggling and broke. You'll fight for us, yeah right.

My family came to McKinnon Law Firm in 2016 when I was in a motor vehicle accident that left me in quite a situation. After getting established with the firm my husband filed for his social security after being turned down twice. Laura and the rest of the firm jumped right in and took over. It was a long road but we are so thankful that we had such a great fighter in our corner. When we got to court it was like a switch flipped. Laura is so professional and well spoken. If you need a disability lawyer, she is your way to go! I was well informed of everything I needed to do to help build evidence for my case, and near the end of it found out that it is EXTREMELY hard to win a disability case for a young mom. For this reason, she didn't seem confident that she could win my case, but she won it with flying colors! I'm so grateful that Mrs. McKinnon and her staff were there to help me through everything.

My husband dealt with severe back problems for years eventually ending in major lower back surgery with more surgeries in the future. He had attempted to get SS Disability before but the help he had was lackluster and he felt dejected. Consulting with Ms. McKinnon immediately gave him renewed hope.
