Returning from a long road trip I was rear-ended by a drunk driver on an otherwise empty interstate. He fled the scene, but was apprehended after using a tow company to help hide his car. I was hospitalized and released. Great news right? Wrong - that was just the beginning. Before I knew it I was dealing with bills from the hospital, the ambulance service, the Orthopedic group, and more. It was enough work trying to balance my regular life with the addition of Physical Therapy. Then you factor in negotiating with an Insurance Company that wanted to minimize what they paid out not just because that is their job, but because the drunk driver that hit me worked in their corporate office.
