My experience dealing with Kevin Shepherd and Samuel Tipton was the most unethical, disappointment of any law firm or lawyers I’ve ever experienced. The first Red Flag is when Mr. Shepherd required a ‘nonrefundable’ retainer. In my opinion this is noting short of a scam. Kevin Shepherd and Samuel Tipton was listed on my retainer of $,3,300.00. Over a dozen phone calls, I made to his office went unanswered and none returned from either of these to so called lawyers. Even their receptionist was rude and unprofessional. A lawyer not returning your phone calls in a timely manner is an Ethical violation according to the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. I have files two complaints against Shepherd and Associates, P.C. Mr. Kevin Shepherd even went to court without notifying me, not one word. He took it upon himself to have an Order of Protection changed that put me and my family in danger. Mr. Shepherd never even bothered to inform me of this. I found out by mistake. Once I tried to fire him due to ethical and borderline fraud. He gladly withdrew and stole my $3,300. This is my personal experience with this so-called law firm.

Seems like a nice guy, I'm going through an extremely difficult divorce that my wife is playing as dirty as she can, keeping my daughter from me, took most our savings. .. .I spoke with Kevin who was a nice guy seemed very able to do the job and is very reason l reasonably priced, I was willing to hire him but I needed to make the patient in 2 parts. At least 1/2 upfront and within a month before it goes to court of pay the rest. Before it EVER made it to court. I don't have a lot of money the business Does good but it isn't my money, my wife took most of it so I asked him to put this up. I'm a giving person I help people I help charities I reach out when people need help I have given people places to live and when I need something when I need help and I need someone's compassion to help with the situation I'm not asking them to do something for free it's beyond anything that they can do. This is ridiculous

I moved to Maryville TN after the mother of my children left Florida with my kids and without my permission. I found Shepherd and Associates on the internet soon after moving to Maryville and met with Sam Tipton. It took quite sometime but Sam was able to navigate me through the lengthy process of getting custody of my children and getting permission to move back to South Florida with them. I would highly recommend him to anyone who has family legal issues. Worth every penny! -Brian H

If you want to pay someone almost four grand for misrepresentation, then by all means hire this law firm. Because when it comes to your kids they can be tossed around and be abused and wait almost two months for any kind of protection to keep your kids safe. Very disappointed in this law firm, I would love to charge people 200 to call Me or send me an email, even if its just a simple question of what's going on. And charge a person for testing that was paid for by insurance. I see in all reviews the set price is always 3300.00 ours was for an emergency custody and order of protection for the children which Like I said took almost 2 months to even have the judge look at it and the law firm said theirselves it was a time sensitive matter. Not blaming the judge at all, this was all at fault of the attorneys because one who took on the case had to be the one to file it in the court was going on vacation, everyone needs a vacation understandable but why couldn't Sam file it thru the court instead of Kevin esp. When this was involving children being abused. Sam was the one who went into court for us not Kevin and stood there and did absolutely nothing.

I personally would not recommend this law firm took 40 days to get a petition for emergency custody after paying 3300.00 down . In court there was no representation from the attorney, pretty much just sat back and let whatever happen ,happen. They were the ones that recommended emergency custody but took almost two months to even get the judge to look at or sign it. Once the judge signed it I was advised to wait til court to even pick my children up to get them away from their abusive mother. I would seek professional counseling if using these lawyers they will leave you with so much worry and anticipation, they wouldn’t or couldn’t tell me anything I needed to know as far as what was going on with the case they dropped me as their client because they were overcharging me with five minutes in court at a hundred dollars a minute that we were in there not to mention any phone calls made to them or emails getting charged over two hundred for each email or phone call. I was being charged for a drug test that my insurance paid for and submitted . Please take this advice. Money will do better elsewhere and if using them be prepared to do all the work, and to represent yourself. Very disappointed with them. This was a very serious matter that was not taken seriously.

My situation is far from common. Kevin and his team have stood by me and continued to encourage me to keep standing as I have. I have 3 children, 2 daughters from my first marriage and a son, which I adopted in my second marriage. I have been in custody conflict with each of them and even both of them coming together to keep me from being my son's father after an already difficult road for him and my daughters. With Kevin and his team I have been able to maintain the progress and growth with my children as all parents dream and become primary custodial parent to my son. I was honest with Kevin and gave him only the facts. From there he presented my case with confidence to no waiver. When the other parties brought in several people to possibly testify or provide witness to their claims there was never a drop of sweat to fall in worry. Though these matters seem to not end it is only by the support and representation of Kevin Shepherd and Associates that I have been able to strive to be the father I want to be. The one I am still to be. Co-parenting is extremely important and difficult at the same time. Responsibility as a father or mother does not end and Kevin holds that bit of wisdom to heart and has done all that was needed to keep my family safe.
