I had a tough case and the facts were not in my favor (I'd made some poor decisions that I was really worried about), but Dustin was able to help me greatly. Dustin made it possible for me to continue with my life and do better for my kids. He's highly connected and who you should choose if you really need the best attorney and someone you can trust.

This attorney is weak and easily bullied. After paying him over 5k for my wife's visitation & custody to be modified after her ex hijacked the kids with emergency custody over allegations that were over a year old, the end result was joint custody and advised my wife that her paying $350/month child support was more than fair even though she is and has been a stay at home mom for years with no where near the income to suffice this amount. I have custody of my 2 children and I wish i wish I would have paid him to represent my ex because she's a business owner and only has to pay $60/month. What he has done should be criminal......wonder if he was double dipping.

Working with Dustin McCrary has been one of the worst experiences. He would say one thing one month and then go back on it and say something different the next month - multiple times. He did not answer emails, phone calls, or texts. I had SOOOOO many questions during the custody and divorce process that simply never got answered. Maybe he deemed them not worth his time THAT I PAID FOR, but, as a layperson, I don't know the law and that's why I hired him. Here's the kicker of the whole experience, it took me calling a third party to understand what was happening because he couldn't take the time to explain to me so that I understood. He was was rude, condescending, uncompassionate, and showed zero empathy. When everything was all said and done, I didn't even get a phone call thanking me for my business or congratulating me that the process was over. That is poor business practice. I highly suggest you speak with a few different lawyers before choosing this one and overpaying a retainer that you won't get back the unused portions of. I called around after the fact, my mistake, and other retainers were thousands less. His was a very sizable amount that I used a fraction of. Money NOT well spent for poor service for such a personal matter.

This lawyer Dustin S McCrary May care about somebody but it sure wasn't me if I were you I wouldn't use this guy. I would like to tell people the real truth about my experience but I am a gentleman. And now because I am exercising my 1st amendment rights to free speech with this review. It seems that now he says that I have threatened him because I have put up this review. I am such a criminal for telling the public what I believe is a lousy lawyer. they do exist you know. I guess I will have to go to jail for telling the truth. It is very unfortunate but this lawyer will tell you anything including lies in order to get your money then he will tell you that it's not money he cares about.He will say that it's you he cares about. He does not care about the North Carolina Bar Association rules. I don't think anyone should use his service. I paid him with his rip-off way of business over 19,000 $ I guess this lawyer believes that everyone is stupid. And after a great amount of time, The Man has not even made an attempt to return personal heir looms to the family.
My sister has tried Three times and driven from Charlotte to retrieve it. And of course he won't even talk to me about several items that he has completely made a mess of. I guess he thinks that we will just go away. Not so, I can assure him.
This little self centered punk took my most prized possession a very rare Gibson 335 as partial payment because I trusted him by the words that he told me. House, money, my possessions. But he was lying he didn't even find out what the truth was. I am a professional guitarist and I need my guitar. He doesn't understand that sort of thing. I even offered to buy it back. Kharma will find him well. Don't let this happen to you.
He just took advantage of me cause he could. He didn't earn his pay. All he had to do was just tell me the truth! And I wouldn't be here. When you are real sick and down and out like I have been. This sort of thing really hurts!

I hired Dustin for my side in drafting a pre-nuptial agreement. Dustin was very helpful through the whole process: he encouraged me and coached me in the conversations to have with my fiance but he also stood his ground on what was best for me and played a huge role in protecting me as well as my current and future assets and best interests. He made me feel secure in preparing the pre-nup, reaching agreements and finally signing. He took the time to explain every sentence (word, really) in our pre-nup and explain what I needed to think about in terms of worst-case-scenarios.
