I did a pre nip with them. I went back for some clarification and left with more questions than answers. I will be reviewing my pre nup with another attorney.

Amanda knight has boldly stood in front of judges lying through her teeth and discriminated against me to take children away from a mother that has raised her children and home schooled them all there life's. Ms knight will not only lie to get her way she will try to ruin the lives of others to do so. She does this not realizing the danger she is putting people in. Ms knight herself will be on the wrong end of a legal battle ASAP...dont hire this woman..

Jillian Mack. Cream of the crop. One of the most hard working, professional, focused, dedicated, caring, knowledgeable, aggressive, advocating, objective lawyer in the area! Words can not express the wonders of this great, successful lawyer. We love her and putting faith into her will not disappoint! A plus is the entire staff in that office. All are very courteous, prompt, professional, and available. Believe me, we put them all to the test. This lawyer and her team will do all they can. There is nothing else a client can ask for. We hope to never need them again, but if we do they are the go to team!

In my particular experience, I found working with Autumn difficult. She had no real empathy or concern for my child. All she focused on was making people look bad and filing contempt as a leverage tool. You should look elsewhere in my view. This style of litigation hurt my child in my view.
This firms standard response is we have no record of anyone by this name at our firm --- ever --- which is what I expect.

Gray/Autumn and all of Ellis Family Law are a very knowledgeable and detailed family law attorneys. They consistently stay up to date (if not ahead) of the latest trends, case law and research in the family law practice. I often call upon their firm for advice and guidance when dealing with issues I may be uncertain of or am seeking confirmation about a certain issue I am dealing with. Without hesitation I have referred and will continue to refer cases to this firm.

Gray Ellis and Jillian Mack were excellent lawyers and represented me regarding child custody issues. Attorney Ellis was the primary defense lawyer in a seminal case that defined the term "legal custody" in North Carolina-- the above information is on their site. This law firm was highly recommended by others for child custody issues which is why I selected Ellis Family Law.

I hired Jillian on the recommendation of my divorce attorney friend. He said she was the best. After my case I understand why. Jillian helped me understand all the aspects of a divorce. She walked me through step by step what to expect. She ended up helping me as I negotiated the points she taught me about with my ex. Jillian was there to look out for me during negotiations and stopped me selling myself short. She was a pleasure to work with. She is kind and compassionate and really helped me through probably the most difficult thing in my life. I hope you don't ever need to, but if you do, call Jillian.

As important as your case is to you is how important it is to them. I am so grateful to Jillian Mack and all the support staff at Ellis Family Law for preparing and presenting such a solid cases for me over the past three years. I have used them for all manner of family court cases, and I have reached all of my goals in court. In addition, they have helped me with document preparations such as last will and testament and power of attorney.
Even the district family court judge had kind words recognizing Jillian Mack as a good lawyer. She is a great lawyer, and deserves a lot of praise and credit. She not only helped me achieve everything I set out to in the courts these past three years, but it was a pleasure to work with her. She is kind, funny, and communicative. To start, let me say shame on me for not doing enough research to protect my family from getting taken advantage of. I thought that researching lawyers in the area, checking online reviews and following up with a call to speak with someone at this firm about my estate planning needs would have sufficed, but after the experience I had, I’ve learned that I need to educate myself (and others) much more about what to expect.
I called their office to learn more about the firm's estate planning process, fees, etc. I spoke with William. He was very nice and informative (so I thought). He told me to set up an initial consultation for which there would be a charge ($150 for up to 30 minutes, $250 for 60 minutes). When I asked what the fees were for the creation of a will, POA, etc., he didn’t know specifically. I asked if the consultation fee would be rolled up into the cost of the estate planning. He didn’t know, but asked Tiffany. He came back and said yes, that’s often the case.
My wife and I adjusted our work schedules and picked up our 10 month old daughter early from daycare to come to the consultation. It lasted no more than 20 minutes. Frankly, everything that was shared was stuff we could have read about online for free. During this chat, we learned that the firm charges a flat fee of $1,000/person for the will and two power of attorney documents. And that the $150 consultation fee doesn’t apply to flat fee scenarios.
For us personally, the consultation didn’t add value for the price we paid. We didn’t have to have it in person. They could have easily shared those basics via the firm's website or we could have read about them elsewhere online. That would have saved us $150. All possible if the person that answers the phone is equipped to answer questions from potential clients about what they’re actually going to get out of the in-person consultation. In posting this review, my hope is that you're able to better educate yourself on the topic/process so that you can better spend your hard earned dollars.

Ellis Family law, specifically Martha McKee, has handled several cases for me over the last few years. They were complicated cases which required an experienced, well prepared lawyer. Not only did Martha reassure me that everything was going to be ok she made sure it was! The office staff was excellent in keeping me updated with the case status. I felt this firm truly cared about my child and her well-being. It's never easy going through a custody battle but I can reassure you Martha and her team made it 100 times easier for me. I highly recommend Martha and promise you will not regret your experience! Thank you to the entire staff at Ellis! :)

I have nothing but good things to say about my representation by Ellis Family Law. Autumn represented me in a contentious child custody case and we were able to settle outside of court and obtain a fair settlement to the matter. Autumn provides very sound advice and doesn't back down from the important issues. I felt that the firm was very responsible with the allocation of resources and efficient with billable hours, avoiding unnecessary charges. I recommend this firm to anyone that is going through a divorce or child custody issue.

I had somewhat of a dual experience with Ellis Family Law. My case involved two hearings over a timespan of almost a year. In the early portions of my case, I was extremely satisfied with the representation this firm provided me, but as time went on I came to realize that ANY lawyer at all would have produced the same result given the situation, since the opposing party was essentially defeating theirself.
The major dissatisfaction with my representation is due to the fact that none of the relevant evidence in my case was used by my attorney. I gave her a mountain of evidence and she chose not to use hardly any of it, and she even told me at one point that I gave her too much evidence! I needed help with my evidence, and instead of thoroughly combing through my evidence to help me find the best material to use in court, she sampled a small portion and jumped to conclusions about the rest of the evidence she did not take the time to examine.
Perhaps most frustrating is that if there was ever an opportunity to hit a home run in family court, my case presented that opportunity to an attorney with the right frame of mind. I assumed that $300+/hr would get me such an attorney, but instead I got someone who backed down too easily, shy'd away from the REAL issues in my case, and gave me nothing but excuses in the end.
Certainly nothing is guaranteed in a courtroom and there is a high level of uncertainty in the outcome. One cannot justify being dissatisfied with an attorney simply because they did not receive the outcome they wanted. But I am not dissatisfied simply because the outcome was poor. I am disappointed because I feel like my attorney didn't really listen to me about the issues in my case and that many opportunities to win my case were squandered as a result. I cannot help but think my case would have been won with a different approach than was provided my counsel.

I would like to say that not only was everyone in the office friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, understanding & compassionate they really know their S#@t. Mr. Ellis went into the situation, a 15 yr + living hell w/a certified sociopath & family, & sent them all home w/their tails between their legs!! Not to mention the un-intimidated way he handled the Gov agency of CPS & their agents. This is a stand up firm with top notch attorneys that are willing to & will go above & beyond to resolved your matter. I highly recommend them to any one who has been caught up in the CPS scandal & feel like you have no place to turn, turn to Ellis, & you, like we were, will be surprised & grateful that you did !! Again, we can't express our gratitude enough & thank y'all from the bottom of our hearts for the relief you have given us & for removing that 800lb gorilla off our backs. We wish you all a long, happy & prosperous life. Thank You & God Speed, Tammy & Rich Cowan (p.s. written by Rich which explains all the bad grammar ;-) !) P.S.S. I mistakenly implied that we were actually represented in court by 'Mr. Ellis' it was actually Miss Autumn Osbourne who went to court with us & although I'm sure all associates are excellent attorneys I have to say that Autumn was like a pit bull in that court room, not only not backing down but actually backing everyone else down, she is truly a force to reckon with. Also would like to give a shout out to Tiffany, she the greatest, sweetest person we've had the good grace to have been given the opportunity to meet & get to know, once again, thanks to you all !!

I have been in continual custody battles with my ex-wife for 8 years but I have never felt so supported and assured as I have while working with Ellis Family Law. Ellis law firm was referred to me by another attorney who assured me that the law firm was one I could count on. They are very diligent and hard working, and I feel like the whole staff really cared about myself as a client as well as my family that I was fighting for. This was one of the toughest custody battles I have been in but with Gray and Ellis Family Law by my side I was confident in the outcome; I think that having such amazing representation was the ultimate reason I won. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and reiki master/teacher. No matter how much positive energy I put into my personal life and my life’s work, I was humbled by having to face the reality that many of my clients face, a custody dispute. Ellis Family Law was referred to me by an associate of friend. At the time, I had consulted with at least 10 lawyers seeking help for a time sensitive issue pertaining to a move abroad. I was exhausted with the legal advice I was given until an associate of a good friend made the suggestion to see Mr. Gray Ellis and his team. My initial thoughts were to just pick someone I had already seen as I was overwhelmed by the process but sharing the same surname prompted me to give it one last try with one more firm. Ms. Tiffany was the first voice to represent Ellis Family Law. Her warmth and passion for her work and her confidence in her legal team inspired me. No other person I spoke to was able to communicate such a strong and firm belief in capability of their legal team more than she. She was catalyst for my investigative inquiry about Mr. Ellis and his credentials. After discovering how brilliant attorney Ellis was, I made an appointment for a consultation. Soon after our meeting, I meditated in thought and made the decision to retain Ellis Family Law. I felt a sense of peace come over me from the moment I left the office the day I retained the firm. It was the first time I was able to rest comfortably since the beginning of my custody ordeal.
From the second I hired the firm, all hands were on deck and I felt at ease. I received consistent updates and information. It felt like I had an army of caring, exceptional, intelligent and most of all compassionate people working for me and my children. I could not have asked for more from Mr Ellis and his team as they exceeded my expectations. I sit here in Okinawa telling this story nearly three months after my case was won still in awe and still offering thanks for all that was done to keep my family together. We are eternally grateful for your kindness and giving hearts as I know these qualities paired with your exemplary legal mind and dedicated team are the reasons why my family is together.
We are enjoying the best of life as a whole, happy and healthy environment which allows me to serve others who are striving to heal their families. Thank you for helping me to heal mine. Choosing Ellis Family Law was the best decision I have made for my family to date because it allowed my family and I the freedom to explore the world. As we continue growing from this experience and rebuilding connections, we are eternally grateful for the platform you have provided us in helping others. I don't see how anyone can loose choosing Ellis Family Law
