They don't follow through with their job. Three years later we still don't have our house in our names. Nice people but that's it.

Jean Dixon is a con artist. My mother was dying from brain cancer and was at Peak Resouces and we needed to get my Aunt to be power of attorney. Someone told her that Dixon and Dixon would do this for her and would be there on Monday to see another client anyways. When we called them Jean Louise Dixon told us it would cost 500.00 to do a power of attorney. She told us that she would have to see if my mom was of stable mind to even do the Power of attorney. Well she arrived and we went to my mom and she was not stable at all. Jean Dixon was in the room literally 5 to 10 minutes and said she could not do the Power of attorney. Which was fine. Me and my entire family were very distraught about my moms condition and was not thinking clearly so when she asked my Aunt to pay her we were not thinking clearly. My Aunt asked her how much we owed her and she told her 500.00. I never even thought about this in this day because my mom was dying. Well after my moms service and trying to get things in order for her I realized what Jean Dixon charged us and I wanted to know why she charged us the full amount when she could not do the Power of attorney. So I called her office and left a message asking her. Well 3 messages later she still never returned my call after 2 weeks. Finally I called again but this time told her I would go to the court house and ask them what I could do about her being like this. Funny enough she called me back immediately saying she didn’t have right my number. I left my number on every message I left her. I am local and I have never had a bad experience with anyone on Hatteras Island until now. Everyone here is caring and helps each other. That is why I love living here. But she took advantage of me and my family at one of our hardest times. She is not honest and I would not trust her with anything. Good people do not act or do things like this. I even asked her for an invoice and she refuses to give me one. So I will be going to the Court House to see what has to be done.

Great experience with our closing, very laid back and friendly. Great conversation with the attorney, We even got some additional insights into the area that will prove handy in the future. If we do real-estate on the islands again, we will surely use this group.
