Marcia came highly recommended for me to retain as my lawyer and I'm so happy I went ahead and did. I had a very complicated case and was extremely nervous of the outcome, but Marcia fought hard and got my case dismissed! Not only does she fight hard for you, but she always makes sure you understand what is going on and what her strategy is so you won't feel left out wondering. She genuinely cares about your mental health and how you're dealing with the case, along with always being accessible to you. She's extremely down to earth so you immediately feel comfortable. I would high recommend her services to anyone looking for an attentive, empathetic and hard fighting lawyer!

Marcia is a phenomenal lawyer! Her legal mastery and acumen are evident as she is willing to go the extra mile and research options, make contacts and explore multiple strategies. This was so important to our case and a real game changer.
Marcia worked closely with our family and had a sincere interest in making sure that she reviewed every angle of my son's case. She was personally vested to work with him every step of the way, including prep before court, coaching him on the different scenarios that might happen and even recommending what he should wear in court. She gave advice on steps he needed to take to put himself in the best position for a more positive outcome of his case (i.e. get a job, go to school, etc.). I felt she truly cared about his well-being and wanted the best in life for him.
She was resourceful, relentlessly tracking down whatever information she could that might help our case. She reached out to her colleagues for their perspective on the different players since this case took place outside of San Francisco. She researched every angle, from the court calendar, DA, PD, and judge for options. I learned a lot personally from watching her approach. It's not just about the rule of law but negotiating with those related to the case - building relationships, gathering information and using all of that for tactical advantage. I really felt that our son's case was in good hands with Marcia. She was calm and confident and that inspired confidence in us and our son. She kept us up to date via phone, texts, email, and face to face meetings so we always knew where we stood with the progress of the case. All of her hard work and strategic planning resulted in an outcome of my son's case which was BEYOND all of our expectations! This would not have happened without Marcia's commitment, dedication, tenacity, moxie and just being an amazing lawyer. We are incredibly grateful to her and lucky that we picked such an awesome lawyer to represent our son.

Marcia is a miracle worker! My family and I experienced a really bad legal situation and were basically being framed for a crime. She just called to let me know that the DA rejected the case. She is a lawyer who is kind, dedicated and extremely sharp! . She managed to get the charges dismissed before a case was even filed! The DA most definitely values what she has to say. My family and I are incredibly grateful for all you have done for us Marcia, none of this would be possible without you!
Marcia was absolutely fantastic and helped me get through an extremely difficult and unfamiliar situation. While I don't have much experience/exposure with lawyers, it was immediately evident that out of the 5 different lawyers that I spoke with, Marcia was clearly the front runner. She was efficient, honest and clear with our strategy and I witnessed first hand how she went above and beyond.
Her follow-up was relentless. Her attitude was always positive, but realistic. In the end, all charges got dropped and I am confident that Marcia played a significant role.

If I could give Marcia more then five stars, I would. I know plenty of attorneys. I know plenty of other professionals in businesses where client service, professionalism and decency are what really makes an impact in people's lives. Marcia is all of those things and more. From calling me back on a Sunday night, to rearranging her Monday, to being thorough and leaving no question unanswered she was amazing for me. She knows her craft and, more then that, knows people. With Marcia I feel confident in saying you will have an ally and someone who has your back - not just a lawyer.

I got in a really bad situation where I was charge with 3 felonies. I got arrested and while I was in jail my family by friend recommendation hired Marcia Silver. They paid $15000 flat fee which was supposed to cover everything from A to Z - this is why they went with a flat fee in the first case.
I was arrested and jailed in November 2010. I was released on bail 21 days later after Marcia reduced $100000 bail to $40000.
As soon as I was free I had a meeting with Marcia in her office. I should have noticed how unorganized her paperwork was at the time. She told me she will need additional $3000 for the investigator. We are down $18000 already if you keep score.
She started working on my case. Every time when I had a meeting with her she mentions that she needs to go over her notes (Why not before meeting?!?) I didn't feel that she really working it. I'm not sure if she had some personal stuff going on in her life (remodeling, boyfriend, etc) and frankly don't really care. I relied on her to be a professional which she wasn't at the time in my opinion.
The biggest shock came right before the preliminary hearing. She told me that we have to redo contract and for another $7500 she will represent me further. (????????). I refused to agree on the spot.
A preliminary hearing was over and my case was sent to superior court for further prosecution. Which means $18000 was not a good investment. Or should I say invest in the wrong stock?
The above was written many years ago but never posted. I just adjusted it a little. After 4 years (yes I was convicted) my English came up a notch.
Here are some afterthoughts:
Overall what I'm trying to say - and this comes 6 years later after everything happened that there are so many lawyers who will be much more helpful and attentive. If I knew what I know now back then I would never have dealt with Silver. She simply took advantage of the situation. She really misled my loved ones and let us all believe that she is on top of this. And the price situation is simply unethical.
Do not hire her. There are better and less expensive lawyers out there.
She probably will reply with a statement saying that I knew the what was the agreement through our contract - which I didn't, or at least was under impression that she will be there with me until the end. I asked her numerous times what other costs will be involved by the way, and I was assured that this is it. Also I'm sure she will mention that she didn't get paid and this is why she went as far as preliminary hearing - as a lawyer, the officer of the court she was obligated to explain what court system is like and what to expect, however she didn't. And she got paid. $18000 to be exact plus other small expanses I am not even going to mention. Once again I will say - she simply took advantage of the situation. No matter what she will say or how many positive reviews she had in the past. I am writing this 6+ years later. I am older and I have changed a lot. The reason for this review so many years later to prevent someone who is already in trouble to get "scammed"... well "scammed" probably a harsh term here. The reason is to prevent someone to experience same disappointment as I did. There are many many great lawyers out there. To hire a good one is a full time job. But it is your life. And is worth it. By the way.. I just won a Habeas Corpus, for who don't know what it is - it is a reversal of your conviction. You do what you think is right for you but keep an open mind.

My husband and I are new to the world of looking for a lawyer to represent us in our criminal case. We were so worried that we couldn't afford a lawyer plus not to mention that we were extremely skeptical of being ripped off. After calling several different lawyers offices on Yelp, I decided to meet with them. Most lawyers we met with were pushy, aggressive and promised too much to the point it wasn't credible. Plus, I can't even begin to mention it was an arm and leg to hire them! After meeting with Marcia, we had a sense of comfort and confidence that she knew what she was doing. She was able to work with our budget and was very fair.
We did some research and found out she has been a lawyer for over 30 years and it really does show in the work she accomplished for us. The way that she spoke to us was respectful and she understood our complicated situation. Marcia is very familiar with the criminal court system and clearly has a lot of connections in SF. Marcia explained what our options were clearly so we understood as well. She was incredibly knowledgeable in using different tactics in fighting our case. She knew the people in the court very well from the judges, district attorneys and the lawyer she is up against. Being that my husband and I are new to the criminal world, at all times, Marcia answered all of our ridiculous questions and assured us that we always had options. The charges began as felony charges then Marcia was able to get the court to charge it as only misdemeanor. Soon after she was able convince the DA to transfer our case to neighborhood court! Neighborhood court basically is a program where you complete one or more requirements to have all charges dropped against you. It's the best option if you don't want a permanent record. At the time our case was in neighborhood court, the other party decided to go to neighborhood court and make new false claims to get us kicked out.
Marcia refused to give up and fought to get us back in. In the end not only were we able to go to neighborhood court but she was able to seal our records in our last court appearance! So not only are our backgrounds clear but we didn't have to go through the normal year long process of sealing our records! We can't be more happy to know that we can finally say that we should of never been arrested, that we are innocent and we can finally continue with our normal lives. Initially we worried because I saw that these charges were pending and we could of lost our jobs. My husband and I are so thankful to have met Marcia. To top it off, she was also able to guide us through helping us with our restraining order and eviction cases. If she can help you in anyway possible she will. That's the type of person she is. She spent time calling her lawyer friends and connections to guide us as best as she can. She even convinced an eviction lawyer to take on our case pro bono and referred us to a bankruptcy lawyer as well. If she can help in any way she will. There isn't enough words to explain how much she changed our lives for the better. Thank you Marcia from the bottom of our hearts! Keep up the amazing work you do!

I highly recommend Marcia Silver. She is very straightforward and easy to work with. She is very accessible and responsive. She takes the time to understand your case and does a great good synthesizing it into the key messages that impact the court. She always looks for fair and simple solutions rather than escalating or complicating conflicts. She researches areas she is unfamiliar with and seeks advice of other attorneys if there is any question about how to structure the case. I was very comfortable with her approach and delighted with the outcome she achieved.

I was able to win my Restraining Order Case because of Marcia Silver. Every Lawyer I spoke to told me I had very little chance of winning. Marcia took a different approach and her tactics worked. She helped me every step of the way and and was very dedicated to making sure we fight this battle. She is an expert and because of her I WON THE CASE!
When you are looking or searching for a Lawyer, you want the Best. You want someone who is going to fight for you and win. After searching, googling, yelping for a long time to find the best lawyer, I found Marcia Sliver. I read the reviews and I decided to give her a call for a quote and tell her my case. After speaking with her, I knew this was it. She specializes in many different areas, criminal, DUI, ect.. but mine was a restraining order. When we deal with the law, possible records, or consequences it can be extremely stressful and yes depressing. I was scared. Lawyers are just suppose to guide you, but not Marcia. She called me to check in almost every week, she was understanding, encouraging, responsive, and brought a human kindness throughout this process that it helped me stay optimistic.
I don't like writing reviews because I just don't have the time. Reading the testimonials is how I selected her, so I hope this helps for anyone reading it. She has a unique approach that can expedite the legal process. She has over 25 years of experience and she is an expert in handling all type of cases.
If you want the best shot at winning your case, hire her. It's a competitive market out there with a bunch of lawyers with great reviews, but what makes her stand out is she is aggressive, intelligent, knows how to work the judge and the other parities, and can help alleviate the stress which is what we all need sometimes. I was scared about my situation and I didn't know what to do, I just wanted a strong lawyer who can battle for me, with Marcia I got that.

Marcia is absolutely amazing. Not only did she help me with an issue she handled it with such grace and dignity and with such thorough research that only comes with seasoned pros. A true angel that all around her realize. Even those on the other side of the table. She can make a point and get to the bottom of things without making an enemy. handling things with such grace and delicacy I couldn't think of a better person to have on my side. I can't say nice enough things about Marcia. Anyone who is fortunate enough to get to work with her is a lucky person indeed. Highly recommended. She's amazing.
