I went to ALARP to seek help for an eviction the landlord where I lived had planned on taking me and my partner to court.
Anyway, I was seen and represented by a professional attorney. Her name was "Kai" Malachi J Haswell. She was the nicest very well experienced and in the end was able to avoid me getting evicted.
Fyi: be sure any issues, problems you've been harassed, anything helps to win a case. Write it down as proof incase you're ever taken to eviction court.

We had to go here because we are being kicked out of our home for no reason. The landlord sold our home without saying a word. These people here are amazing

A well established organization with a long history of representing clients with HIV infection particularly in the earlier days of AIDS when discrimination was much bigger problem. I wasn't happy with my representation during an eviction I suffered a couple of years ago.

Good lawyers but not really the best at handling people in certain situations and they also like to take other people's sides and not yours may not be the case for everybody but still give them a try I can honestly say they at least tried but in the end fell completely apart.

Terrible experience with ALRP. I was kicked out of my apartment, lost nearly everything I owned, and was left to fend for myself and living in a motel after the ALRP and their attorney friends collected the entire settlement agreement funds (The ALRP attorney made me sign under duress) . The ALRP attorney made me sign an agreement not to sue his ALRP attorney for discrimination. The ALRP attorneys ruined my life, and the ALRP attorneys pay each other to throw people out of their homes.

Volunteering at various LGBT events in the City provides community grant monies to this invaluable free resource to those in need of legal help while dealing with this still very real and catastrophic diagnosis.

I can not begin to tell you how helpful these people can be. They were able to save me from financial disaster at a time when I was physically able to do much.

Alex Taylor appeared uneducated when she offered to shake hands. No doubt Taylor is unprofessional. Shocked to find out she went to Cornell. Alex Taylor disrespected each speaker with her texting. She sits away from the audience sneaking cookies and treats. Taylor was unreliable and insincere to the potential volunteers. AIDS Referral might be for a good cause, but Alex Taylor needs the boot.
