Look out for this guy with family trust/estates if it's worth something. By the time it was settled, it was strung out and reaped little by little for over a decade (about 13yrs if i remember right). If you get confusing letter regarding his practice that in the scope of "If you all don't sign this letter, then some worse off outcome is going to happen," then don't sign it. Investigate why it's not in the actual scope of the estate. Beneficiaries received multiple "fear" letters tell us if we come back on him, it's going to cost a lot of money which will come out of the dwindling funds that were left in the estate. So it was a take it or else situation. We all took the bait. Looking back, kind of fishy when most if not all documents just happen to burn up in a accidental fire at his office at the time...

I had a horrible experience with this attorney. In April 2012, Attorney Mortimer argued that Habeas Corpus should be ignored when defending Daniel Chacon Alcaraz in order to gain a restraining order. I had to report Steven Mortimer to the State Bar of California and have a complaint filed against his license. In civil court, he again tried to enter a previous court case ruling where Habeas Corpus was ignored, as evidence refusing to acknowledge the State Bar of California's decision against him. He lost, then tried to sue me, claiming I caused his law firm pain and suffering. In the end, the restraining order was removed, a new won was granted on Daniel Chacon Alcaraz & Steven Mortimer.
