One of the nicest lawyers I've had to deal with. He shows true consern and is very clear on how he talks. If your appt goes over it's ok he wants to make sure you understand everything you talked about. His office is beautiful, plenty of parking and close to downtown. Try him out if you need one.

I would like to be as transparent as possible in this, as my case was rather abnormal.
Steven and Rebecca handled my divorce several years ago, so when a new found custody battle came up, I found it fitting to go there, since they created the original agreement.
I have to say, first and foremost, that Rebecca's communication is exemplary! She responded promptly at every whim I had, and normally in a very cordial manner. She was honest and forthcoming, and all though not the best at comforting, she made sure that I understood both sides of everything. I would not trade her for anyone to be my primary POC for my case.
Secondly, when my first court date came, I found out that Steven himself wouldn't be present, even though he was the original attorney paid for (things happen, I get it). John stepped in for court and showed up 4 minutes late, thankfully the judge was running behind, but we had little time to go over last minute details. I felt that John's goal was to force me to settle the case in favor of the opposition. He often spoke with the opposing attorney in the presence of my ex but not me, so I was not privy to the attorney discussions but the other party was, and was able to give input. This was infuriating. From the most honest of my heart, he seemed to have been walked all over and bullied by the other, very intimidating I will admit, attorney. This caused me to be very unhappy with the outcome because what I had told him would happen if I agreed to something, indeed happened when he assured me it would not.
After the first court appearance, when I let them know of my displeasure, my needs were much better met and I couldn't be more happy with the course of time and their efforts after that. If not for the day of court itself, I would absolutely rate them as 5 stars.

I didn't hire Girsky because I thought it was odd of his receptionist to sign a contract and pay without setting up a meeting. I was seen for a consult and he was polite; however, I don't understand how someone wants you to pay/sign without going over what you want. Just odd.

Mr. Girsky helped me obtain custody of my son back in 2010 which is a huge undertaking and just recently helped me with a child support issue. He as well as his office staff will go above and beyond to assist anyone and the communication you will receive is second to none. I can not praise him as well as his law firm enough for all the help I have received.

Mr. Girsky and his paralegal, Michelle, were nothing short of amazing to me since day one! I came to Mr. Girsky late in my case, only a few months from trial. So here's the deal. Even as an attorney, I was once guilty of judging an attorney and their firm by their client. I made this mistake once, and it was with Steven Girsky and his paralegal Rebecca Keller. I had yet to meet them but I was not fond of the idea of them because I didn't like their client (the opposing party in my case). But, here's the deal. I was wrong. So wrong. I'm sure I called that office 20 times in one week, making demands about things I wanted their client to do or stop doing on behalf of my client. And guess what? I always got a response. After a few weeks, I walked into the office, figurative guns loaded about something their client had allegedly done and was met with smiles. I was treated with kindness and respect. I was not an attorney who normally practiced in their county. They had never heard of me. I was just some stranger with a bar card.

Because that the case was such a long, drawn out mess, I had the pleasure of getting to Steven Girsky and Rebecca Keller, and many others who work in the firm. I was never met with anything but graciousness when they owned me only basic propriety. If that doesn't say everything you need to know about the character of Steven Girsky, his paralegal, and everyone else in that firm, then you need to read this again. I discovered Steven Girsky to be an attorney of integrity, who fiercely advocates for his clients. And obviously, everyone in that office was wiser than I, because they didn't seem to have made any judgements about me based on their impression of my client. That was several years ago and I have had several cases with Girsky since then.

In fact, if a potential client calls me and announces that the other party has retained Girsky, I jump at the chance to take the case. Why? Well, he may be a badass lawyer and a seriously tough adversary in Court, but I know that his firm will always treat me and my client with respect and always, always offer professional courtesies when they can. This is everything.

I am a family law attorney. In my opinion, nobody ever wins a divorce and there is never a win when it comes to splitting up time with your children. But, I have to say, when anyone asks me for a recommendation in Montgomery County, Steven Girsky is the only name I give. Why? Because who I send someone to also reflects upon me. And I know that if I send a person to Steven Girsky, I am sending them to the best.

As opposing counsel, I can expect Girsky to make my job HARD. Because, no matter how much he may like his opposing counsel, I have never known him to let that get in the way of being an unwavering advocate for his clients. So, when someone I recommended to Girsky mentioned some questionable reviews, I had to see for myself.

I can't speak for unhappy opposing parties or anyone else on the internet. I can only speak to my own experience and to the entire community of Montgomery County attorneys, none of which have ever had an unkind word to say about Steven Girsky or anyone who works for him, despite some of them having "lost" to him in Court.

Finally, if you take nothing else from this review, take this with you: If I needed an attorney, he'd be my only call.

My lawyer and I didn't have the best start at first but he has since worked with me to understand what I need better and is helping me with my divorce.

Did a horrible job with communication. His paralegal Rebecca Keller did not let us speak to the lawyer whenever we called and she became very rude towards the end of the process. He asked for a certain verbage in our parenting plan and she told us “ I did it this way before with no problem to other”. Also we Had to keep calling about our paperwork being finished even though it was complete weeks before we received it. All and all we paid for a good service and was treated like an annoying pess during the whole process. We wasted over thousand dollars just to find another attorney who would help us create what we tried to created. I do not recommend this firm at all.

Friendly and professional!

We did a step-parent adoption with Mr Girsky's firm. We had a few obstacles to overcome (which we knew going into it), but overall it went really well. We met Mr Girsky the day of the adoption and he was the nicest guy. It was a joyful day! The only reason I gave the firm 4 stars is that the senior paralegal Rebecca is super hard to deal with. There was definitely a lack of professionalism at times. I felt like I was walking on egg shells. If you can get past that (which can be hard with how much money you pay), then you'll be good to go. She certainly took care of the legal aspect and that was appreciated. Just not a people person I guess.

Mr. Girsky and Mrs. Keller did a fantastic job helping me gain custody of my children. I was sent updates and copies of court documents as submitted. Communication was mostly through email but I always received timely responses. The front desk was always helpful when I called or showed up to sign documents. My ex went all out to get custody, I wont get into details but it was super crazy, Mr. Girsky was still able to settle everything at mediation.

After my wife and I decided a divorce was the only way to proceed, I hired Mr.Girsky to help me out. I didnt have the full retainer fee at the moment, so he let me put some money down so he could work up a rough draft of the paperwork and submit the divorce decree to the courts when I had paid the rest. After long late night conversations with my wife, we decided we would try to work it out for my child. I had thought that the money I had put down was a waste, and worried that since I signed a contract with him that I would be responsible to pay the rest of the retainer fee. After giving his office a call, Mr. Girsky, without any issue, told me that I would be refunded my money in full. Although I didnt use him, I wanted to leave a review on the integrity of this man. He isnt a money hungry typical lawyer. He is very understanding, and the conversations I had with him I could tell he was ready to fight for me and very a tenacious lawyer.

Mr. Girsky did my divorce/custody case involving a twelve year marriage and a very controlling/narcissistic husband that I was forced to obtain orders of protection from to protect myself and young son. Throughout my marriage, I lost myself and my voice as a person, but when I retained Mr. Girsky he and his staff became my voice. To this day, I'm so grateful to him, because I walked away with everything I worked so hard for during those years and most importantly, sole custody of my son. You are a terrible attorney. You only cost me the initial fee, plus about $600.00 dollars a month, simply because you are too lazy to read emails or actually represent your clients.

My case was was far from the normal divorce, but his paralegal helped me through this high-stress time of my life. She explained things the way that I could easily understand. It’s obvious why she is Mr. Girsky’s right hand gal!

As I went to post my review, I see some mixed things and have a hard time believing what I am reading. I have used Mr. Girsky for a few cases and have had nothing but great results. Mr. Girsky and his staff are exemplary of what a law firm should be. I found his Paralegals to be honest and up front and found Mr. Girsky to shoot me straight if he thought we needed to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Not every case is a winning case and not every situation is the same when you consider the circumstances. I have been through this enough times to know that you win some, you lose some. It would not surprise me in the least (based on my experiences with Mr. Girsky) if the negative comments were made out of losing a case that just could not be won. I would recommend this firm time and time again if you want a lawyer and his support staff who will actually work your case and push the other side to step up.

Do not go here. Steve Girsky is a licensed crook. We had a contract to pay him $3000.00 to go to court and help me get full custody of my daughter. We shook hands, signed a contract, and gave them all of the evidence anyone would need. After he was paid in full, way before our court date, he started saying I dont think you can win, and then never went to court for us. Steve Girsky just kept our hard earned $3000.00 and said, I'm done. Go get another lawyer.

I contacted this firm after I could no longer afford a prior lawyer. Mr Biggs took over my divorce custody case. While I did not win my case a great majority of that was my own fault. I feel Mr Biggs is a hard nosed lawyer who will fight for you. He is honest as well. My case was massive and had been going on for years. I feel if mr Biggs had a few more months to go through all of it we may have had a more favorable outcome for me, at least on the parenting plan. Every one I spoke to at the office was kind and understanding. If there is one super positive thing I can say about Mr Biggs is that at my ex’s depositions he did not cut him any slack and actually uncovered a substantial neglect on my ex’s part. In other words mr Biggs played poker against my ex at deposition and won. Mr Biggs is a great lawyer and I do recommend their firm. And after I pay off my bill which I’m sure is lovely, I hope to work with them in the future should any issues arise, and knowing my ex, I’m sure there will be issues. I sincerely appreciate them taking my case and all the chaos that came with it. To find lawyers that listen to you and understand is hard but this firm does. Thank you all for your efforts.

7 months after my divorce I had to call up Steven Girskys office for a copy of my divorce decree. Was told by the receptionist that I would get it in an Email 30 min from the time I called. It has been 2 weeks since I called and time is up.

I could spill my guts about how he didn't show up for Mediation. Could even state how the lawyer that went in his place told me to give up custody because as a guy I wouldn't win in the court system there.

If you want someone to take your money and sign papers. This office is for you. If you want a lawyer that will actually fight for you and keep you informed and up to date on whats going on? Look somewhere else.

My father in-law had a nasty spill at work, which was blatantly not his fault. They had it on camera and everything, but would NOT release the footage not matter how many times we pestered them. So long story short we got Steve involved and my father in-law got paid sick leave and a good settlement that more than met his needs.

Steven Girsky and the legal aid Rebecca were hands down the most professional and understanding. Having to deal with my ex-spouse over child custody issues was by far the worst period of my life. My initial contact with Steven and his law firm in 2014/2015 wasn't such a great experience. His paralegal at the time was very rude and dismissive. I have upgraded my review because recently I had to reach out to Steve and his firm for some information from a case that was closed in 2015. I hired Steve Girsky for a family custody case back in February 2017, hiring him was the best decision I could have made. From the beginning he was very open, honest & professional about the process and all that would take place. His team worked extremely hard and made myself as well as my family feel confident do to the circumstances. Last year my daughter's father got in a car accident with my 7 year old daughter in the back seat . He fled the scene after the car flipped and crashed. Drugs were found in his car as well as other illegal items while driving on a revoked drivers license. He took my money and made the situation much worse! Lied from day 1 talking a good game up until the day of court where he begged us to take a deal because of a loop hole he forgot about. What!?! I hired you for this reason specifically and you forgot?

Where do I start? From the first moment I spoke to Mr. Girsky, I knew that he was the attorney I needed to hire. I had a some what complex custody case where the custody order was from VA; I live in FL and my daughter and her father lived in TN. After throwing over $2000+ dollars down the drain on a lawyer in VA, I researched and found his attorney's office online. I read the reviews, prayed on it, and gave him a call. He was up front; explained to me the process, and the likely hood of me getting the results I wanted, yet, very professional. I like how we worked as a team. Any concerns or suggestions I had, he listened to, professionally advised me, and sometimes incorporated them into the case. He is aggressive when he needs to be and very competent at what he does. As I personally told him, he is the first attorney (and I've had several over the years dealing with custody issues) of such high caliber that I've had representing me. This is a very good firm to hire. Here's why; I phoned 10+ attorneys in the Clarksville area looking for help with my Parenting Plan from Georgia while I served in the Army all the way in Alaska. Out of those firms I called, each and every one quoted me money "$4000 for this", "$7500 to file this and that", but Steve didn't talk about money, he asked to see all my court paperwork first and within about two days he called me back and said to me "I know I can help you". Your fooling yourself if you think your going to find a better firm in Tennessee or Kentucky. The entire staff there is polite, professional, and they make you feel like family. I highly recommend this firm!

I went in to this law firm and haven't been properly treated right since. My spouse and I both went in and signed the divorce papers and was told it would be filed right away after we paid the remaining fee. I paid two weeks later in full and the paperwork was supposed to be filed that week. Here it is a month and a half later and it is just now being filed because I had to call and check up on it. Luckily I did or it would be December. And not only has a month and a half passed by, when my divorce should have been finalized coming up in a couple weeks, but they tell me it was a mess up on the lawyers part but they tell me I have to wait an additional 60 days from when they file. Telling a client that the lawyer messed up and didn't file when he should have and acting like every time I call, it is an inconvenience is not how a client should be treated. I had to call them every single time when they were supposed to be the ones to call me. I never received a call about anything in this dilemma. If it's the lawyers fault, you would think they would be jumping through hoops to fix their mistakes. Not telling me they just filed in the past week and I have to wait another 60 days, when it has already been 45 days. The only positive I give about this firm is the payment plan.
