I had replied with documents they asked for and asked what exactly the next step was. I had no response until October when they said I did not ever respond, to which point I showed that I did. they said I never gave them any money, which is true. I had asked what they actually needed and not a probably.
This brings it to today. They just emailed me back saying they will not represent me. They tried to make it a point that the money was to file and not to pay them. I never contested that, I had just asked to know what they needed instead of "it will probably be ___". So I have waited for months and did not seek further council to find myself treated this way. It is not professional. It is pretty rude. I believed Bill to be a good man during our meeting, confident in his abilities. I can't speak further due to the lack of professionalism before ever getting into the actual law aspects. As a business owner, I've learned to be clear and concise with clients. I wish I was treated the same.
He does care for his clients and has a true heart for justice.
And regarding some of the financial concerns of some other reviewers...lawsuits are expensive by any count , regardless of lawyer used. Indeed, I was not truly prepared for some of the expenses. Ask questions. Make sure you understand what all the charges are going to be or at least what they could be. This will give you an idea. But final cost will depend on your case, it's details, and how far you can get. Weight that against what you might receive. That way, you at least have an idea if it might be worth it.
I will always use this law firm.Thank you all for all you have done for me. Keep up the great work!
From the beginning of our communication, I expressed that if there was anything that I could do myself for free, for him to please defer that to me. Last week I went down to the Chesterfield County courthouse and filed the motion to amend, as I have done previously on several occasions for FREE, as the form is easily located on the county website--although Mr. Bunting said they did not have my paperwork on file.
My file did, in fact, contain the original divorce decree, as I had told Mr. Bunting on a previous occasion. All he had to do was ask the court clerk to check the file, which he did not. Therefore, the motion to amend you "attempted" to file on 10-9-18, as per his signature, was never filed and this case which was initiated back in October is finally going to go somewhere, not by Mr. Bunting’s efforts, but by my own. The police record is also available for FREE online. I could have filed and retrieved the information that he charged me $320 for, although he did actually nothing involving any kind of follow through. Luckily I fired him before he stole the full $1,000 retainer.
It is disheartening to think that the VA State Bar Association allows this type of legal sham to occur, without any reverence or protection for the ordinary citizens of our state. Mr. Bunting is a fraud and did absolutely nothing to help my case. He took advantage of a single mom who was reaching out to him for help. Instead, he stole my money.
