Yeah, leaving a review on someone's professional performance, just because you personally know them is well, sketchy at best. Work with the person, have them provide you a service (or lack thereof) first. On to the REAL review: Charles R. Samuels is the worst possible person to get assigned to you as a Guardian Ad Litem. He represented my son a few years back and refused to EVER visit or even speak with my son, his own client. He comes across as misogynistic (I hoped that was just my experience but now I've read otherwise) and accused me of all the things my ex was doing TO myself and my son. We were both stalked, abused, and gas-lighted by a sociopath and Mr. Samuels only listened to the sociopath, thus treated us very poorly (or "me" I should say, since his actual client was nonexistent to Mr. Samuels during his handling of our case). Thankfully my son turned 18 and never saw his abuser again. Mr. Samuels did not want to hear our side, or look at any real evidence we had. (Guess what? An arrest was made that paralleled my complaints and concerns against the other party and his family months later by another victim). In short, Mr. Samuels ignored all my faxes, emails and efforts to contact him before our hearing, which made a fool of him in court because I was able to provide those items to the judge after he gave inaccurate testimony and then left early. Thanks, Mr. Samuels, for extending the abuse, lies, and defamation brought about by a sociopath. Take a psychology course to help you identify abusive behaviors, or at the very least make an effort to actually SPEAK to the child you're supposed to represent next time.

I have known Charles since he was born. He is doing a great job. Not only in his law practice but in the community as well.

Protest like hell if he gets assigned as your guardian ad litem. I got diagnosed with terminal cancer and needed help to see my son who was taken by my ex to live out of state. He rarely returned any of my phone calls or emails. He broke all the rules for Guardian at litems but he always seem to answer my ex. I did not see my son for over a year. He would only partially present what I submitted to him in court. He took an additional 4 months to attempt to formalize a simple visitation schedule after joint custody was determined, which in the court order visitation was due within 30 days. Absolutely disgraceful.
