First off there is no good place to park, I'm a Senior who does not walk well, got fussed out because I parked in the back of the building and knocked on the back door, (For employees only)! They need to find a better building that has better access for handicapped parking! Second, I found the reciptision a little on the ride side and judgement, because I ended bringing my situation to them at the last minute. The following week I kept waiting for a call from the Attorney for my problem, I ended up missing the call and when I tried back all u get is a recording for intake and never get a human on the phone, so, we played phone tag all week! Pretty sad when my situation was critical and running out if time! The following Monday, finally drove back down to the office, when I was introduced to an Attorney, he was informative, but too late to help me! So, the whole experience was a waste of my time! They really need to update that phone system!

Always closes early which odds annoying when they claim to close at 5pm. It's 442pm and they are closed.

The attorneys here are super busy I agree but they worked digilently with getting my bankruptcy and a civil cased worked out and in my favor. I was very pleased and it was definitely inexpensive and worth the wait.

Ok all the bad reviews arent entirely accurate. Yes u do gotta wait A LONG time..i had to leave a message an finally got a call back almost 2 months later..AND its been almost a year an im finally gettin sumwhere in my case..finally got it submitted 2 the judge,now its gonna b another 2/3 month wait til the judges handles it..but yall 4gettin this is a FREE service..an they hav TONS of ppl needing/requestin free legal help..so u cant expect 2 go in 2day for ur divorce,claim or wuteva an then walk out with a lawyer an a court date..if u hav the money i urge u to handle it urself BUT if u truly need free legal aid this place will tak care of u..jus NOT immediately..u gotta hav plenty patience..lik i said,im goin on a year an my case is not done but its one step closer then it was..they did their part now its up to the judge..every thing is a waiting game..as is anything thats free..

Contacted them about legal assistance involving a tenant landlord dispute.

The employee who screens the applicants actually was dumb enough to tell me that even though my landlord is breaking the law what business is it of mine that my landlord breaks the law.

what business it was of mine was why I was contacting them because when my landlord broke the law it affect me.

Here's an example of the conversation with legal aid

Landlord: won't call the police to remove a homeless crackhead that's living in the laundry room in breaking into people's cars.

legal aid: what business is it of yours that the landlord lets a homeless crackhead breaking the cars in live in the laundry room.

Me: I have to do laundry and own a car that's what business it is of mine

when legal aid justifies people breaking the law they're not the people you want for help.

I made an appointment with Legal Aid for assistance with a nasty landlord situation. Mr. Wegbreit handle my case efficiently and got my landlord to make the necessary repairs while backing off their threat to evict me. I very pleased with the assistance I received from Central Virginia Legal Aid. I am going to employ their services again against the same property owner.

You will never get a hold of an actual person, just a voicemail that asks for you to leave a message and then saying they will return it. Ive left two messages in 2 weeks and still havent heard back. Dont expect to hear back from them.

explained my case and now i have proof of the issue but i had to call back to get anything. but I get the same message saying they are closed when they should be open! Is this what they mean when its not4profit.. does that imply not4integrity, not4yourinterests

I am a 100% disabled Veteran, I was sued by having insisted driving for another driver who was drunk and the resulting outcome, minor. At the accident I was issued a ticket when I showed up in court to contest the ticket the ticket I now had against me was different than the ticket I had first gotten. Found guilty of a new unknown charge I was then sued by the person's who had allowed the drunk to drive and who I had replaced as driver. Going to legal aid I found out they could not help me because I made too much money, (a disabled vet check, try living on that) and they could not help me. I ask for s referral to an attorney. They had none and even if found guilty the party suing could never access my fund because they were government. So legal aid said just ignore it as they could not garnish my bank account. SO JUST FORGET THE LEGAL STUFF THEY ADVISED. Yup they cannot take my money but the can ruin my credit. So now I have no credit no lawyer.

I have called for over two weeks at various times during their normal operating hours, only to receive a voice mail saying they are closed. I will give a higher or lower rating based on my actual experience if someone will ever bother to turn their night serve off.

Would not recommend this business. Attorney would not review my case, even though he only had to make a phone call and my issue could have been resolved. He told me he would make the call but didn't, typical lawyer. Besides I was more knowledgeable about my situation then him anyway and he didn't sound very intelligent.

I needed help and got good advice. The pro Bono Lawyer I spoke with gave me 2 good hours of his time and was very respectful.

These folks are willing to help. We are glad to recommend them if we need to.

Would not recommend. I tried calling and when I finally reached someone they were incredibly rude. I asked if they could assist me with employee retaliation for filing a complaint for carpal tunnel and was told flatly there was "nothing they could do" and that "I need to hire an attorney".Then I was immediately hung up on before I could ask anything else. These people don't care and aren't concerned at all. You are not a legal aid service if you do not provide legal aid - terrible terrible service.
