Rachael was excellent to deal with at the office, but I didn’t like the fact that I had to gather all of the paperwork necessary for the bankruptcy. I paid a lot of money for the lawyers and it should have been their job to gather all of the paperwork! I have MS and it was very mentally demanding and frustrating for me to find all of the documents!

I retained the services of the Firm Shannon Harris, a few years ago to represent me in a Divorce. My post is coming now a year and some months after the divorce was final because I now have to retain another lawyer to do what was not done at all. It was an extremely difficult time for me, as I was filing a contested at fault divorce. Despite that nothing that I addressed with Shannon Harris was addressed. In fact everything I asked her about, she told me I was not entitled to. Her concern was for my spouse, her concern was for what was fair to him. If you are going through a divorce and it is detailed or military I would advice you look elsewhere. My money was refunded but it doesn't change or correct the fact that I was deprived of entitlements that I had coming to me. I'm not sure if it was a situation of her not knowing military law, or it was personal, but "PLEASE," be mindful if you need knowledgeable representation. A very big regret, that puts me in the position of hearing my now formal spouse ask me sarcastically, "You had a Lawyer, what did she do?" Don't be like me, because you will have to say nothing.

Very unsatisfied took to long to get a simple divorce.
Paid 200 to get spouse served the impression given that police can not find him when I gave specific guidance to job. The attorney Brinda act like she never knew what I was talking about every time I call for an update. Kept informing me they do not know when police goes to look for him. So I paid 400 for newspaper publication was told 4 weeks it would be in the newspaper been over 4 still have not seen nothing. Process for a simple divorce not asking for anything but a name change has been an hassle. There is no communication with client if u do not call hope they answer the phone or return ur phone call you will not hear from them. They just out to get your money will sell you simple bs to make you pay more money. Been dealing with trying to get divorced since June it is now September. Trash company

We obtained the service of Ms. Harris for an adoption. My son was being adopted by my husband. The process took 4 years and twice in court. This was due to Ms. Harris not doing much of anything for us. Once the adoption did finally go through I was told it would take a while for the birth certificate and that was fine. In November I contacted the office via email ( twice) and was told that it hadn’t come in yet and it would be forwarded to me once it did. In January I contacted Brenda ( Ms. Harris Paralegal) ,once again twice before I got a response, I was told that she didn’t make the birth certificate and if I thought I could get it any faster I could call Vital records myself. So in February when I still herd nothing I did just that. Turns out the information was never sent to vital records until January and they didn’t have it until February 11th. I was told that she sent the information and money but not the application. I still would not get the birth certificate. She told me how I could do it myself and so I did 2 weeks ago and it was sent out yesterday. I have been played so many times by this office and would not recommend anyone to them. I also emailed Mr. Lee and got no response.

Although the law firm's representation started off a little rocky, Attorney Chad S. Roberts step up to handle the situation. Within 24 hours Mr. Roberts was completely caught up on the case and ready to proceed. The outcome of the case was exactly what we had hoped for. Mr. Chad Roberts was very professional and outstanding when handling a speeding ticket for me. I went to the Newport News Office, waited 40 minutes after my appointment, had given a summary of my case over the phone and after all that, I was told they don't handle civil cases. I took off from work too! I give them a zero.

I love this law firm. It has give me and my family a fresh start with life has to offer.

My bills had piled up beyond the ceiling, or so it seemed. Then I had not one (1) but two (2) heart attacks, which added more bills to an already overwhelming stack. Several of the bills had entered "Collections" status, and another "Garnishment" notice had just been sent to my employer by another creditor. Two (2) other creditors were waiting in the bush. I owed more than I could ever repay in this lifetime.

After attempting to do a bankruptcy without an attorney, my first effort was "Dismissed". Then one of Attorney John Lee's staff, Ms. Shanna Harris, wrote me a letter which offered some hope. Her Paralegal, Rachel helped calm my fears and assured me that I may begin to breath again. She even took time to thoroughly and properly explain the many piles of forms that a bankruptcy requires.

The day of the "Hearing" came and Ms. Harris was there to represent me in front of the Trustee and a room full of strangers. Only one "Creditor" appeared, and after some questions, the Trustee told me "Mr. Todd, you are free to go". Ms. Harris and Rachel let me know that I schould expect a "Discharge Letter" from the Bankruptcy Court within a couple months, and that all would be well. Even when some creditors attempted to scare me with threats aftyer the hearing, all I had to do was give their information to Ms. Harris or Rachel and the calls stopped. I tell you, creditors are trecherous even after they know that you are in bankruptcy.

Now, other family members, with similar situations and bills have asked me what happended? They also comment on my apparent "lightheartedness", to which I respond how great it feels not to have Creditors, collection agencies and threats of having my limited/fixed income garnished. Then they get to hear my story about how Attorney Harris, Rachel and the entire team of Mr. John Lee's staff helped me get control of my financial house. I'd recommend everyone facing what I was facing to make a cost free call to Mr. Lee, ask for Ms. Harris and Rachel, then watch them commit to providing quality service to you, "One client at a time".

SCAM ATTORNEY- Took a retainer $750 for case they did nothing said took 1.9hrs!! I resolved my case next day out of court myself. Contacted them to return my money since they did nothing! gave me back $170 said to bad and hung up on me.
