Stephanie Montgomery took over my case with a high level of professionalism and integrity. She explained all the legal aspects in detail and she was up front with me from the beginning about my chances, legal options, time expected, possible outcomes, and legal fees. Ms. Montgomery was a true professional every step of the way and always responded to all my phone calls in a timely manner and answered all the questions I had. In addition, she was always well prepared and performed extremely well in the courtroom. I will retain her services in the future, if needed, and recommend her without reservation.
Stay away. This is only my experience. Her practice is focused on quantity, not quality. The process will be drawn out to increase the total cost. Keep in mind that she began her career as a bankruptcy atty where they made their money on volume.
She was not prepared when we went in for the pre-judicial settlement, even though she was paid for her preparation. She was asking me questions on how I wanted her to proceed at 9:55 in the morning with the judge and spouse and her attorney sitting in the room for a 10:00 start of the proceedings.. She shared with me that she was currently handling over 200 divorce cases so far this year---and it showed with her breach of fiduciary duty and lack of preparedness. I was pressured into signing the settlement that day-DON'T DO IT.
She cost me in excess of $16,000 plus retirement funds that other council is amazed I had to pay. Be cautious of her claim of "low fees". She is not responsive, her paralegal is nasty. You will get what you pay for.

Stephanie recently handled a custody/ child support petition. She was very diligent and offered sound advice. My soon to be ex husband filed for support. Stephanie was able to mitigate spousal support and come to an agreement in regards to child support for joint custody. Stephanie was well poised, prepared and professional in the court room. I would recommend Stephanie as a family lawyer.

By far the worst money I have ever spent. I hired Ms. Montgomery and told her my situation and asked what would she charge to represent me in court to get custody of my son. She told me $1050. I paid her immediately in full. It took months for me to get a court date and anytime i called to speak to her i was rushed off the phone. She would talk down to me and make me regret calling her when thats her job and what i paid for was for her to help me in my situation. I was incarcerated for a seperate issue. During my incarceration i wrote her and she NEVER even replied. Then she took it upon herself to rescind the case without ever speaking to me. She took my money and NEVER represented me in court. Then upon my release had no explaination of why she felt she deserved or earned my payment. I would advise that nobody retain her if you really want someone who cares.
