From start to finish Merna Law made me feel my case was just as important for them as it was for me. My chapter 7 went exactly as they said it would, they executed it with great professionalism. I would recommend them 10 times out of 10 to my family and friends.

Staff was rude and unfriendly. Staff did not care about me and my situation. No one called me back about my case. Awful experience!

DO NOT USE THIS FIRM! THEY ARE BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL. MY ATTORNEY WAS GENENE GARDNER AND SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS. SHE DID NOT MAKE SURE MY PAPERWORK WAS FILLED OUT PROPERLY AND NOW THEY EXPECT ME TO PAY THEM MORE MONEY TO ADD IN SOMETHING I NEVER KNEW HAD TO BE ADDED IN THE FIRST PLACE. JOHN MERNA TOLD ME TO TAKE DOWN MY REVIEW OR THEY WOULDN'T CONTINUE TO HELP ME. I DID TAKE IT DOWN AND ALL HE DID WAS ASK ME TO NOT TO FIGHT AND LET THE JUDGE TAKE MY MONEY. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE MAY AND GENENE TOLD ME TODAY SHE IS WITHDRAWING FROM BEING MY LAWYER. SHE SAT IN COURT ON THE 2OTH OF SEPTEMBER KNOWING THEY CONTINUED MY CASE TO ANOTHER DATE AND DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING TO ME. I WAS 41 WEEKS PREGNANT IN A COURTROOM FOR 2 HOURS FOR NO REASON. SHE SAW ME AND DID NOT SAY A WORD. SHE IS WORTHLESS AND JOHN IS JUST AS BAD INSTEAD ACCEPTING THEY MADE A MISTAKE THEY WILL BLAME ME. I RETAINED THEM BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW THE FIRST ABOUT FILING BANKRUPTCY AND I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE TRUSTING THEM WITH MY CASE. I HAVE COUNTLESS EMAILS BETWEEN USE PROVING HOW UNPROFESSIONAL THE FIRM IS.

this has been an ongoing pain with these people, or at least the lawyer that we have anyways. not sure if I just got the bad apple or what but I would not choose them again.

Not only were they very responsive to questions and concerns, but you could see the huge difference in court vs the other Attorneys. Anywhere else would be a waste of money in my opinion.

My husband and I went in for a consultation at Merna law about a year ago. We gave a woman, forgot her name, an estimate of how much we owed in total between credit cards, car loans and medical bills.
After giving the estimated amount, she then stated it would be between a 1,300-1,400 monthly payment for a Chapter 13.You would think before giving any numbers they would want to see actual statements to have an accurate amount. We weren't even asked if we could come back with the information. She acted as if she didn't want to help us in any shape, form or fashion. Which was fine, just let us know and we can give our money to someone who actually want it.
I felt discouraged, not knowing how this whole thing worked. But, I didn't let that stop us. I researched more and came across Boleman Law in Virginia Beach. We once again, went in for a consultation.The customer service piece let alone was amazing which the woman at Merna law didn't have. At Boleman they were eager to help us and let my husband and I know that they were here for us. They entered our information in a actual computer at Merna law nothing was entered nor written down. But, Boleman law asked if we could come back with all the required documents. Which were the most recent statements. Everyone we came in contact with had so much knowledge and wanted us to be informed about the start to finish process.We filed a chapter 13 with Boleman law, monthly payment is half of what Merna Law quoted. Boleman made everything so easy. I've been meaning to leave a review about Merna law firm to let everyone know, if you feel you were mistreated, don't like the monthly payment amount etc. Please go to Boleman law you will not be disappointed, I promise.

Appointment was at 1130. I arrived at 1113 didn't get greeted by receptionist until 1120. Didn't apologize for not being at the desk either. Sat until 1147 before a different lady came and took paperwork all while they have a personal visitor in that walked in 2mins after me and they are all in the back and I'm hearing laughing and loud talking even while I still wasn't seen until 1157 by Genene Gardner who was very sweet and kind.
