Zero concern and absolutely zero effort made by this legal team for my case. Over 18 months met with me for MAYBE an hour. I do not recommend this person for anyone's defense. Take your case elsewhere. Absolute disappointment in the whole matter and lack of proffesionalism. I felt completely alone in my defense having him as my attorney.

Garrett Law Group is not a firm or brick and morter location. He works from his home to keep his business expenses low. Beware of lawyers that say it's cost effective to work in this manner. It does not guarentee you as a client will reap the benefits and save. It implies the legal council may over extends their work load to bind your contract as a extra curricular so he can use the retainer money to make up for his other cases with a better pay out for his time and services. You will be given a contract to sign, read it carefully, he will not meet you in person despite your request to do so. Garrett law group works by himself and will write condesending emails to you when you question the scope of his job or contacted duties you hired him for. I do not recomend this legal councelor. I warn others to be thorough when in consideration to find a law firm that claims to be virtual or mobile. Do look in reviews and check better options first. This man will leave you defense - less in court due to the " good ole boy " friends with va bch judges. Beware!

I had found Garrett law group while I was at court with a friend for a ticket she received during an accident. One of the attorneys in the courtroom was very impressive. My 3rd attorney in my divorce case was retiring (first one I wasn't pleased with, second one was hired on by the Chesapeake commonwealth and couldnt continue with my case and 3rd retired). I approached this attorney asking if he did custody cases. He did not but recommended me to their family attorney. I was also very pleased with her however, she moved to Northern VA. Just my luck!! so James took on my case. He was great throughout the rest of my case. He also went to court with me for a traffic violation. He really understood in both cases the law and was very thorough and easy to work with. In both cases he gave me both options and recommendations. I referred numerous people to him and any who used his services all were very pleased. It was one of the attorneys (whose name I do not know) who brought me to that firm and any attorney I dealt with I would all give 5 stars and recommend anyone to their firm.

There's no way to sum it up in a review but Mr. Garret either has intense legal skills or immense clout in that courtroom. Thanks to him I went from 5 felonies down to 3 with one of them carrying a mandatory 20 to life. He got that charge reduced and I got suspended sentences for the other 2 charges. I only ended up serving 5yrs which was the max on my guidelines. He told me I could probably get even less time but I refused to apologize to the so called victim at my sentencing. Mr. Garret looked past my moment of stupidity and helped me out tremendously! And to add to that once I was released I was placed on a registry. TOTALLY BLINDSIDED!!! I called everyone I could to try and figure out this huge mistake. Something said to give Mr. Garret a call. Sure enough he remembered my case and made a couple of phone calls. A few days later I received a letter of apology from the state pd. He could have easily blown me off or pretended to not have remembered me but he didn't. If you are reading this Mr. Garret thank you. Right now I get to enjoy providing for and going home to a wife and son that I absolutely adore as opposed to having to stand for count for another 15 to life.

Mr. Garrett was extremely helpful in our time of need. My college-aged son was visiting Va. Beach with some friends. He got into some trouble one night with his friends and wound up being arrested and charged with several crimes. When I called Mr. Garrett, he answered all of my questions about the charges and then went to work. He handled everything from setting up a bond hearing within a couple of days to my son's trial. He even found me a bondsman who worked with him to bail my son out of jail immediately. In the end, my son received probation and community service on charges that he could have gone to jail.

Being out of state and not knowing anything about my son's charges and the laws of Virginia, Mr. Garrett was such a relief. I can not express how much he helped our family during a trying experience.

I hired Mr. Garrett to handle a reckless driving ticket in Virginia Beach while on vacation. I live in N. Carolina and we handled everything over the phone. I sent him some documents and he was able to get my ticket reduced. Very satisfied.
