On 02/03/17; I made the foolish mistake of getting behind the wheels while intoxicated. Even though at the moment I felt fine, truth was I should have been responsible. As luck, or lack of, would have it, I was pulled over by a Highway Patrol. The whole event stills plays vividly in mind. Little did I know, this night changed the trajectory of my future. After nearly an hour of Sobriety Tests and questioning, I was told I needed to do a Breathalyzer Test. After talking to the officer and questioning him about my options I was arrested and taken into the county jail.

From this moment everything changed for me. On the way to the station, I remember questioning my lack of common sense in the choices that led me to that moment; sitting handcuffed, in the backseat of the Highway Patrol’s vehicle. Spending the night behind bars was a miserable feeling. But for as bad as it was, it was just the beginning of a thirteen month nightmare.
