Recommend highly. They only had two weeks to prepare my disability case, and it was a VERY tricky disability case. But the hearing went great. Mr. Sexton was supremely prepared and had me also prepared for the process. Other attorneys I had spoken with prior to Avard wanted me to jump through all kinds of hoops to prove to SSA that I was disabled. Avard did not. They simply went by the facts and the law and I won my case. Thank you Mr. Sexton.

My experiences where not so great with Avard Law, aside from my Case Manager there was no communication between myself and the Attorney. The Case Manager also changed 2 or 3 times leading up to my Hearing, multiple times I had to explain my financial situation to theese ladies almost like they where not listening or they just didnt care, 2 of them even made jokes in regards to my case and situation refering to it as a baby that was given up for adoption and just needs nourishing. Avard Law advised me to keep going to the Community Health Centers for Medical Treatment, despite having several referrals for psychiatrist and Spine Doctors that I could not afford given to me by the Health Center and having an MRI documenting the Patrusions on my Lower Lumbar. My Case Manager said it paints a picture....well it did and not a very good one a picture of an unfavorable decision do to lack of Medical Evidence, Medical Evidence and test that Community Health Centers do not provide. CHCs have strict policies about not filling out disability paperwork aka the Residual Capacity Forms, which I was asked to get completed by the Case Manager whom I feel should have known wasnt gonna happen at the Community Health Centers,but what do I know im not an Attorney or a Paralegal. When the Hearing was about a month away the case manager said I need a better Medical opinion for my case and actually advised me to get a job despite having Cervicalgia, Degenerative Disc Disease in the Lumbar and Thoracic regions, Chronic Radiculopathy in lower extremities and two Lower Lumbar patrusions with Miagraine Headaches and who knows what else. To sum it all up I wouldn't recommend this Law Firm to anyone who needs help, im not sure they did any work on my case other than accepting it and showing up for the hearing hoping to get paid ,speaking to the case managers did not provide me with any hope just worry and concerns that I made the wrong decision hiring them to represent me. I received my Unfavorable Decision on the 4th of December 2018 and its been 28 Days with no response from this great Law Firm despite multiple phone calls and attempts to get information throughout the month, and I find out almost 1 month later with only 90 days to appeal from the time I recieved the decision that they will no longer be representing me. Everyone has different experiences and this was mine .

Great firm, very detailed oriented kept me informed every step of the way on my daughter's case. Took my daughter's case not only once but twice and had a successful hearing each time. Recommend them to anyone searching for a Social Security Attorney.

I looks like Avard law has helped many just by looking at other reviews, HOWEVER, I have not had the same outcome as others. I have been waiting over 4 years now, with no resolution. I can't seem to reach anyone that is familiar with my case because it has been passed around so much. Doug Mahoney has been able to convince me a couple of times that he had my case under control and he felt confident, which in turn, gave me hope, but as I mentioned , nothing has happened yet other than... .Years of stress. It is taking a huge toll. We have lost our home. I have had to move several times due to years of no income. Relationships .. destroyed due to my inability to help myself financially. I fully understand the financial hardships I've caused others. I feel terrible about it.
My case should not have been a difficult one. I have documented and kept the office updated, call for information about every week, I have literally had melt downs and panic attacks... Extreme blood pressure issues over the constant stress I have been under. So many different people have had my case that I feel like it's total chaos. Every new person that gets involved with my case, makes me feel as though I am starting all over again. I am at the mercy of friends. I know I can't keep on depending on others and if I have ever felt like I've hit rock bottom , it has been since becoming disabled and relying on help from my Attorney , no movement on my case, the inability to pay for the smallest items... or bills that I need to live. I am a complete mess. Another holiday.... No answers, nothing to look forward to, other than feeling like a burden to those allowing me to stay with them. I won't be able to see my Children or Granddaughter for Christmas.... Needless to say, I am very disappointed and depressed. I owe so many people for their help, a visit with my children would not be, by any means, be an option for me. I am happy for those that Avard may have been able to help. If there are others in my situation, I am so sorry. I think I've just slipped through the cracks. Happy Holidays to everyone they have helped.

It was a little difficult getting connected with an attorney. After 2 no responses to their website contact forms I called and left some details. No call back but they took my call and set an appointment. They missed the appointment and I gave them 30 minutes before calling. They took my call, took information and set an appointment for the next day. They missed the appointment, I overslept, so I called and after a little fuss gave up. I got a call back from the attorney, very helpful and a pleasure to talk with. X, thank you for your assistance.

Working with Avard Law has been one of the worst experiences of my life. Do yourself a favor and find ANY other disability attorney in town.
On my initial visit at their office I met with an attorney who acted very professional and told me that I had a very strong case. She gave me the impression that she and the case manager would be on top of my case, keep me informed and be there to answer any questions that I might have in the future. What a bait and switch after that meeting.

They were of little use in assisting me with filling out the social security paperwork. There was no strategy from them on how best to present my disabilty case to social security. I've had 5 different case managers in 18 months. Your can never call their office and talk to your case manager, because there always busy and when they tell you she will call back in 48 hours, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. You can never get a straight answer to the simplest of questions pertaining to your case. And if you complain in any way about their lack of help with your case or their double talk in not answering your questions, then they will tell you that they don't have anymore time to talk and will end the conversation.

I have dealt with many law firms in my life and they are by far the WORST that I have ever experienced. I wish that I had taken my case to any other law firm in town , because nothing could be worse than what I've experienced with Avard Law. Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend this law firm.

If you choose Avard, I can guarantee that you will feel like your just a number to them and that they could care less about customer satisfaction. Do yourself a favor and find someone other than Avard to represent you. I would give them 0 stars if I could.

PS, Look at the response from Avard to some of the other negative reviews on here and how Avard acts like the negative reviewer is completely crazy and has no valid claim about anything in their review. It reminds me of how my conversations have gone with them. They are the masters of double talk and are completely tone deaf to their clients concerns or complaints.

This is by far the best Law firm for Social Security Disability Benefits in the entire United States. Ana and Sagar where both case managers that handled my case. I didn't even really need to speak to the lawyer the first time around. I am really disabled and because of them I was approved the first time around. Being a disabled Veteran was really hard. Now I can say that my family has been taken care of thanks to these two individuals .Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It will not get ride of all the disabilities but at least it will help my wife and son out. I am currently using advair attorneys for my disability and they have been amazing about calling me when have questions for me about my case.. there great about helping me answer any and all questions and forms from the social security office . There just in point for me and my disablity . They help me with all my questions.my concerns . I haven't worked in 5 years due to health reasons . And I'm scared death of not getting approved and advair firm has never once guarantee me my disability but has made me feel comfortable enough to feel strong enough to definitely do all they can to fight for me .

It's a little difficult to rate as of now, as I have only begun my disability claim. So far they seem to be helpful, organized and on the ball. I was in the office a few days after contacting them...I can only hope and pray that they are able to help me, as mine and the future of my children are counting on the help of them, as well as the system! Attorney Michael Sexton and Case Manager Kimberly Cook were beyond amazing at handling my disability case. Kimberly was quick to help me and answer any questions and to get me the appointments I needed. Michael was very good in the hearing and was quick to point out to the judge when things were out of the time period (15 years) and handled the hearing rather effectively. I was very happy with the outcome! Would definitely recommend this law firm to anyone needing an attorney.

Communication with the office was sporadic at best. I wasn't kept well informed as to the progress of my case and it was difficult to get answers. I did all the paperwork myself with no guidance or support from anyone at the office. It took four years before I finally went before a judge - I saw an attorney twice during that time. Also, I had an appointment which was cancelled by the office as I was on my way to the appointment. I called back at least four times that day and kept being disconnected. I asked for a supervisor and was hung up on. I never was able to make another appointment and then, out of the blue, got a "reminder" call for the appointment I never made! I met the attorney for the first time three weeks before going to the judge. He was very nice, but I honestly felt like I did all of this on my own. I still don't know why I had an attorney except that I heard that having an attorney helps your case. It's beyond annoying that I have to give them a "fee" for their "services" which were non-existent until the very end of the case.

I missed a call from them. So without even knowing any of my problems turned me away. I thought they are there to help those of us who cant help ourselves. My Dr had suggested a different laywer but 2 of my friends conviced me to use Advard. I've never been so humiliated and lost. Thank you for making my life even harder.

The firm doesn't keep in touch with clients, no updates are provided (unless you hound them for it). Paperwork is not filled out properly to be filed (you will need to ensure it is done right). Times frames and info you are told is vague.

Great office highly recommend! Kimberly has been so helpful with my husband and mine 3 cases. She is always helpful and keeps us informed. She always returns calls within 24-48 business hours. She makes sure our files are up to date as possible.

I came to this office based on a friends referral and I have to say I'm beyond disappointed. I came in for a consultation and foolishly signed a contract that even after a year and four months of no contact and countless power of attorneys to eliminate still had them take 20 percent of my back pay. They did not submit any thing for me besides an intent to file. The entire time I had no counseling no contact no correspondence nothing from them. Infact I was not aware I even had any representation through out the entire process of my claim until it came time to collect. When I found out about it I called several times until I could speak with Mr. Mohney and explained to him how they hadn't represented me and how I would like my money since the DAV was the only ones that assisted me through this process and he argued with me even though his notes only showed that they submitted two documents for me and that was it. I tried for two weeks to get a hold of him even sent him an email detailing why I didn't believe they were entitled to the 20 percent withheld which he requested and was returned with an email stating that iwas threatening his staff which is false and threatening to take legal action against me. I simply said if he keeps avoiding me like he has and not communicating with me like his office has in the last 1 year and 4 months I would have to find legal representation never once threatening his staff.

I dont recomend them any one find free help it's out there vets.

After receiving my initial denial from SS I knew it would go to trial so I needed an attorney to represent my case. I researched offices in the area & ultimately went with Avard Law. Communication with Avard Law's Cape Coral office is a serious problem, they rarely return my phone calls. For example, I called Monday morning 7/3/17 and left message, it's now Friday 7/7/17 and still no return call. Just one of many, and I won't mention names. Their 48 hour call back policy may as well be 48 days. Besides, I don't make frivolous phone calls. I'm really glad I kept a call and fax log since day one. Maybe it's because I've had six different legal experts working my case the past two years. Or maybe, they feel I'm just not important enough to be bothered... Monetarily speaking, Avard did very well considering the services I received.

Avard Law Offices did a fantastic job with my personal injury case a few years ago. The staff was honest about the case timeline and was easily accessible throughout. I liked that the lawyer was able to explain everything to me in a way I could understand.

Great firm.

Originally I was with Morgan & Morgan and before my first hearing they just randomly dropped through a letter without ever explaining why. Apparently they considered me not worth the investment. Avard Law, however, took my case without delay. When I called I could never remember who I needed to talk to because of my disability and they never made me feel unwanted or burdensome. If they weren't able to talk to me right away they almost always contacted me by the end of the day or at the very least within 48 hours. The way they defended me was done beautifully and I couldn't be more happy to have been under their wing. I won my case after the second hearing appeal and the relief is overwhelming. I only wish I had gone to them first.
