I filed for disability by myself and I was denied, I then chose Karen Howell as my attorney and I was approved at reconsideration.

I can't say enough good things about my experience, with this attorney, she took her time and explained everything. I also didn't feel rushed when I talked to her or any of the office staff.

Great experience, Ms. Howell and her staff were friendly & efficient & very helpful. I can't say enough, she made sure I understood everything happening. We did end up going to a final hearing. She was very professional, prepared me for any question the Judge may ask. The outcome was exactly as we had hoped. I don't believe the outcome would be the same with another attorney. As someone who is short on patience and HATES paperwork & bureaucracy, I was reluctant to even apply for disability, however Karen is nothing if not persistent, so, with her encouragement, I began the process. She explained what was ahead, answered all of my questions and put my mind at ease. Her team was always at the ready whenever I received yet ANOTHER form to fill out or had ANOTHER question pop into my head.

There is alot of paperwork, but after all you are dealing with a government entity. You have to dot your I's and cross your T's. You have to help with your case. Yes we would recommend Ms. Sarah Howell a million times over. Never had a problem with communication, all phone calls were returned, all E-mails were answered. Very polite staff,very helpful. Karen Howell was everything I was hoping for and so much more!! Not only is she kind, but she’s extremely knowledgeable of all aspects having to do with social security disability. She periodically checked in with me to see how I was doing and gave me updates as my case progressed. Karen also prepared me for questions that might be asked on the day of my hearing and I’m thankful she did because the judge asked about the very things she thought he might. Thank you Karen for making sure I was prepared and ready! My case ended up not being decided one way or the other that day. It was a bit frustrating, but Karen encouraged me to stay positive and remember that no answer wasn’t a bad sign. She just called me yesterday, which is almost a week after my court date to inform me that we won!! I couldn’t be happier with Karen and all her attention to details, as well as the kindness she showed me throughout my case. Thank you again Karen!!

I can't thank Karen and her staff enough. They took the time to go over all of my information and medical files. I just spoke to the office regarding a situation for my son and I had read reviews prior even tho a few negative ones I still called. I would like to add that the front desk was extremely timely in answering and extremely professional and kind. My situation is an unusual case and she had me on hold for a moment to ask the lawyer if they could help me. Came back and was sorry they could not but recommended someone who possibly could. So I felt that I should write a review that as a possible new client I was treated with the up most respect.. Thank you so much, I will recommend you to others or use you for myself if ever needed!

So, where to begin... If you are someone who is looking for a reliable and professional attorney, you are looking in the wrong direction. Save yourself the trouble, and the time, (of which they also claim they don't have), and find another law firm. Was seen by an attorney, who at the time seemed very nice. Had a follow up appt scheduled, showed up on time, then proceeded to wait over a half hour, and was then told I could not be seen. Tried to bite the bullet and set up another apt, (even though my wife and I were blown off completely with no apology), and was told I would receive a call back shortly. OUCH. Call back never happened, reached out ONCE MORE to schedule an apt, was then put on hold just to be told neither of their attorneys had the time for us. So, in short, one of the biggest time wasters of the century, and extremely uncourteous and unprofessional. The foul smelling office was repulsive, and almost as abrasive as it's employee's customer service. Wish I could stoop to a lower rating, but unfortunately, 1 star is as low as possible. :)

Karen has been just amazing through this entire process. And it IS a process! She is very knowledgeable about not only the legal aspects, but the medical aspects of disability. She has walked me through everything to expect with compassion and honesty. My only regret is I did not contact her sooner! Thank you, Karen!!

My attorney Karen Howell was so helpful in my disability case. She did extensive research on my case and spoke to me in terms I understood. She prepared me for questions that may be asked and made me feel comfortable before I went before the judge. I had tried to do this on my own and failed so I decided to get a lawyer. She came highly recommended. I was so pleased I chose Karen.She knows the laws and explains them to you so you will understand. It was so comfortable to just speak and tell her how I felt. I didn't want to have to quit working but my body gave me no choice in the matter. I had always worked 2 to 3 jobs at one time to set myself up for a nice retirement but sometimes things don't always work out how you want them to. I suffered so much the last 2 years I was working that all I did was go to work and come home and rest. This was no way to live as all my friends and family kept telling me. And they were right. Even my customers kept commenting how watching me suffer everyday made them hurt that was a wake up call too. I finally realized they were all right I waitressed, bartended and cake decorated, cooked in a school, cleaned houses and other odd jobs to make money. Working never bothered me because I knew when I retired I'd be fine. If you need a great lawyer please hire Karen she knows what shes doing and will truly lead you in the right direction on things. And most importantly please be patient this doesn't happen overnight but you will certainly feel respected and a great weight lifted off your shoulders as you are not doing this alone.

Karen is a good lawyer for what she does...but... She and her office are overwhelmed it seemed to me . Waited well over 1 hour for a visit each time.
Her staff seems to be overwhelmed all of the time. They do make you feel like an inconvenience to them...being left on hold is common for this office.
They require you to get all copies from all Doctors and hand deliver them to her office. (My advice to people using her is that "Always have copies of everything and what doctors you go to.")
They do not request copies sent to them ever.
You are the one getting them. Its expensive and exhausting, especially when you are in a lot of pain yourself.
She does take maximum amount for ss benefits.
And you do all the work...
It does take well over a year and longer to process with her office...I think mine was 2 years.
Her manor is almost an 'abrupt' and uncomfortable...
Experience.
She did finally get the job done. But it was a frustrating experience for sure.
